What do you think about prostitution?

I wanted to be a male prostitute, but in Australia more than five dollars in 10 cent pieces is not even legal tender.

Lol I think that is because the retail workers got sick of counting out those bloody coins! :p

Do you think, if I established my religion in the U.S., I could legalise prostitution as a part of religious beliefs? That would be really cool, because for the rest of the country it still would be illegal so i had the monopole on legal prostitution.

It's legal in Nevada, but restricted to certain areas. I don't know how I'd feel about it, we seem such a prudish culture.

Telling my wife I wanted to join a religion with had temple prostitution, I don't think that would fly. Would it also have male prostitutes? I'm not so sure I'd be happy if my wife joined.

I don't think US culture is ready for it. It's stupid but sex remains a dirty little secret I think for most folks. It's funny to think about but public violence is more accepted then public sex. We got encouraged to play cowboys and Indians. Playing Doctor we got in a lot of trouble for. I'm not sure how well we'd handle the culture shock.

Being a religion doesn't automatically give it carte blanche to do whatever it wants; the law be damned. Gotta conform to the laws of the land.

These days, with our current SCOTUS, I'm not so sure of that. :D

I'm just asking because i want to reintroduce temple prostitution in my new religion. Here in Germany it is widely accepted.

First let me say I am against prostitution. I don't believe women (or men) should be used as nothing but sex body parts.

Second - I see a problem from the start, - as The Sacred Qedesha were not prostitutes. That term was applied by other religions.

As Patriarchy took over they were slowly turned into actual prostitutes.

They were Sacred people that played the part of God or Goddess with the people, mimicking the original Act of Creation, which brought ALL into being.

Hence Sacred Sex, not prostitution.

prostitution is no ones business, its between two people who agree on a self gratifying experience, many marry each other for sex, so they are really nothing more than prostitutes, wrapped up in an emotional agreement called marriage.

Except that in far too many cases it isn't!

It is about men with girlfriends, and wives, - that dip into skank, - and play Russian Roulette with the lives of their supposed loved ones.

But so what, it works both ways, and in the end everyone is happy.

No it doesn't. And they aren't!

The girlfriends and wives of these men disserve disease free sex with their partners.

They also disserve exclusive sex - unless they have agreed to other.

It is not going to be a happy wife that learns she is going to die from HIV/AIDS, - because her no good cheating husband was sneaking around and dipping into skank.

If you want other sex - make that plain at the beginning of a relationship - so the other person can say - I PASS.

Therefore, even the Bible doesn't prohibit prostitution, only sacred prostitution is banned for the daughters of Israel.

I believe you don't have a premise that I can see so why is there a "therfore" indicating a conclusion.

I believe sex outside of marriage for a married man falls under the heading of adultery. I believe the sex of an unmarried person falls under the heading of fornication.

I believe this country is ripe for any sin coming down the pike.

Sorry, "therefore" was quite useless in this sentence. You absolutely right about this. Thank yoh for helping me to develop my English :).
