$300 for just the staining.
$600 for the boards and staining
$700 for the posts, concrete and all
$2100 for the entire job with no beer
$1900 for the entire job, and all the beer I can drink.

How much beer can you drink and still finish the job?

Not much. It's my buddy who thinks he can build a fence. I'm worried he'll be peein' all over the back yard if I go for the one with the beer. OTOH, he's mighty grumpy without beer.

If I was a beer drinking alcoholic I'd definitely go for the $1900 quote...

$300 for just the staining.

Must be expensive stain, because most of the labor in staining is cleaning off one's hands when they're done.

$600 for the boards and staining

Must be staining low quality pine.

$700 for the posts, concrete and all

I'm already working for free. Now you want to charge me for posting here??!

$2100 for the entire job with no beer

Are you doing the post, concrete, and all three times?

$1900 for the entire job, and all the beer I can drink.

You must be drinking Pabst.

Posts, concrete, boards and staining comes to $1300. What brings it up to $1900 or $2100 ?

Who needs a fence anyway. I can use the money to buy a good TV and a lot of beer to drink while I watch sports.

The framing lumber I guess, and my friend is a bad adder. He had beer in him when he gave me the quotes.
Wood is so valuable. Here I am with lots of pine trees and no way to cure them. I could make a mint if I could mill them myself.

The neighbour cats need something to show off on. Just the other day one climbed right atop the wooden bird feeder and sat there waiting for the birds to not notice him. Birds were too smart.

Yeah it's double here too. All joking aside, I was planning to redo my fence this year, but have decided to wait it out, hoping it was mostly Covid to blame for the jump.

Oof... You are in a position to call the shots. Don't squander it. :D

I don't drink the stuff, but with the small brewery craze, it must be tough deciding. When I was a kid, there were like 5 choices. In 1972-73 I worked in an Alberta tavern, and 60% of all beer sold was 1 kind. (Pilsener) Number 2 (Labatt's Blue) held 30% share and all the rest combined has the other 10%. Now it's definitely information overload. You could start a thread.
