Is untruly belief possible?I run into people everyday who claim a faith or religion but then don’t live according to said faith or religion. It’s not that they’re intentionally being malicious I simply feel like most people don’t really know what they believe or why.
But that still encompasses such a large bit... morals/values/purpose/nature of universe/place in universe/etc/etcI’m speaking particularly about someone’s worldview. Everyone has a religion per se, even atheists.
Also, to take it one step further most people don’t know the evidence to support their beliefs. They just believe because it makes sense to them.
Well, I would self identify as a Hindu and my beliefs and actions are mostly consistent with that I feel. What about you?I’m speaking particularly about someone’s worldview. Everyone has a religion per se, even atheists.

Nope. We belong to an entirely different category. I do not have any religion. Religions are for people content with basing their worldview on something that has the same evidence of black cats bringing bad luck.Everyone has a religion per se, even atheists.
Hmm. I've had a black cat for 13 years...Nope. I do not have any religion. Religions are for people content with setting their worldview on something that has the same evidence of black cats bringing bad luck.

A 13 year old black cat? Nice! I miss my black cat, Jasmine, who passed years ago. Once my ginger kicks the bucket, I'm getting another black cat! She's 14, but showing no signs of slowing. I wouldn't be surprised if she outlived me!Hmm. I've had a black cat for 13 years...
Maybe that's why my luck stinks!
Meh, I love him anyways.
My Bella is 16 now, and she still thinks she's a kitten, although she is getting a bit senile, she sometimes gets food out of her bowl and places it somewhere, calling for her kittens she doesn't actually have. The batty little mare...A 13 year old black cat? Nice! I miss my black cat, Jasmine, who passed years ago. Once my ginger kicks the bucket, I'm getting another black cat! I am not claiming that the epistemology that leads to the belief that black cats bring bad luck is inferior. Just that it is different.Hmm. I've had a black cat for 13 years...

Lucky was a roommate's cat years ago... she often left him with me for stretches at a time, and I'd paid for his food and medical bills for so long that when it was time to part, I didn't even ask, I just took him with. She acknowledged it was happening, said she didn't like it, but didn't see an alternative.A 13 year old black cat? Nice! I miss my black cat, Jasmine, who passed years ago. Belief in the absence of something is still a belief. Atheism is more irrational that your average religion because the qualities required to test for the existence of deity would typically be ascribed to deity itself.Nope. What is irrational is attempting to disprove a hypothesis which is A) Untestable and B) Has no evidence to disprove.Atheism is more irrational that your average religion because the qualities required to test for the existence of deity would typically be ascribed to deity itself.
Ok, I irrationally believe in the non existence of Superman, too. Same with Mother Goose. Mickey Mouse too.Belief in the absence of something is still a belief.
