Right .. I think we are all in agreement that slavery is not promoted in Islam.وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنْ عَبَّدْتَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ | Is the favor by which you were kind to me that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?’ | Ash-Shu'araa : 22
There is no verse saying marriage with same sex is forbidden, for example, a woman marrying a woman. We conclude from the talk of Lut (a) with his people it is. The same is the case here.Right .. I think we are all in agreement that slavery is not promoted in Islam.
Nevertheless, I don't see the word "haram" in this context .. yet for usury, I do.
If they do so out of their choice, no, but forcing people is forbidden. Slavery is forbidden. Is it "haram" to have living-in servants, that serve their whole lives to somebody? No !

Slaves were freed back in the 7th century by those with good intent .. they paid their masters
and supported them.

The Quran recognizes slavery as a source of injustice, as it places the freeing of slaves on the same level as feeding the poor. Nevertheless, the Quran doesn't abolish slavery. One reason given is that slavery was a major part of the 7th century socioeconomic system, and abolishing it would not have been practical. Most interpretations of the Quran agree that the Quran envisions an ideal society as one in which slavery no longer exists.
