Fortunately this stained glass window actually still exists; it's in a German cathedral. So I'm surprised no-one has any info (from what I can find) on the quote.Something in latin about the "western face of the earth"?
See Daniel 8:5 in latin? "... Occidente super faciem totius terræ ... " Maybe this was a western facing window?
Yes I think you've probably got it. I had just got as far as deciphering Ostende.... ?Danae?.... Facie...Tua.......I think I've found it:
Nunc ergo exaudi Deus noster orationem servi tui, et preces eius: et ostende faciem tuam super sanctuarium tuum, quod desertum est propter temetipsum.
Mediaeval Latin is heavily abbreviated. You see the mark over the a in tua and e in facie probably stands for the m.
'And show thy face upon thy sanctuary'.
It would fit with its being a cathedral.
I think they've used a slightly different Latin translation.Yes I think you've probably got it. I had just got as far as deciphering Ostende.... ?Danae?.... Facie...Tua.......
But there does seem to be something between ostende and facie(m) starting with D.
