The Order of the Serpent dissolving was best for those involved and just a natural conclusion. I consider it an "experiement", and I think we were pretty successful. You can find all 4 newsletters, the book, and the last archive of the forums here:

To me the most important lesson from that group was that of solidarity and individualism. Everything was fine until we started trying to organize the Left Hand Path - an act I now realize is inherently contradictory. We were all evolving speedily until it became about the group instead of about ourselves. I cannot speak for others but that time in my life was horrid, I actually returned to the RHP for a few months, was in an extremely toxic relationship, was having addiction problems again with pain medicine, and was really struggling with finding myself and my identity on either the Left nor RHP.
Like my patron I tend to be abrupt, chaotic, isolationist, etc. so pretty much went out with a bang, and I think things fell apart after that. Didn't know it at the time but I am on the spectrum, I think that really helped drive the movement as a whole. (Note I am not taking credit for the O.S., rather I am simply annoyingly persistent in moving things forward and creation of new content at times.) But in the end it is for the better, I think we are all better off, and I still talk to many of the people I met in those days (or here). One is even coming to my wedding, we literally met on the O.S. forums. No regrets at all.
600c, well... can we talk ill about the dead?
