What has religion taken from you?

What has religion taken away from you? (In a bad way)

I'll start.

Someone on this site once sarcastically asked me if the Christian church whipped me as I could be vocal against Christianity nowadays.

Uhh dude, I'm circumcised... They literally permanently mutilated my genitals in order to mark me as a member of their cult.

We are so desensitized to the act of circumcision that the worldwide grotesque assault on infants isn't met with disgust on mass.

Religion chopped the top off my pecker. They scarred my literal manhood. So, yea dude, I'm going to be hella salty.

Oh I can go on. I feel like religion has taken much more from me than the top of manhood, but that should illustrate the point well enough.

So, what about you? What has religion taken away from you? Let's vent and cry on each other's shoulders about how religion has taken from us.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Well it was a colossal waste of time. That said however, you do learn and get wiser with these type of experiences and then life simply goes forward as it always does.

Oh the time and energy invested indeed!

I am now devoting all the time I would've spent on religious practice/reading to video games. I think that will turn out better for me. Well I can probably use my time more wisely but for years I stopped playing video games as I saw it as a distraction to my religious practice. So now back to having fun again.
