What if there was no Biblical Exodus?

How critical is a conviction in such tenuous themes as a Young Earth, the Global Flood, and the Exodus/Conquest? For example: how (other than, of course, denial) does the liberal Jew/Christian resolve his/her theology with the mounting evidence against the Biblical Exodus?

What mounting evidence do you speak of?

Good afternoon, true blood. The intent of the thread was to talk about OT inerrancy but, if you wish to suggest your preferred date for this Exodus, I'll do my best to discuss specifics.

These things can be justified as inner processes we go through. There doesn't have to be an outer occurence. Many people see this as metaphor.

Hi, "Lightkeeper". I found it interesting that you used the term justified rather than explained. And, of course, virtually anything can be rationalized as metaphor.

Good morning, true blood. I wrote above:

I just don't want to waste my time discussing such things as c14 data, philological evidence, destruction layers, and highland settlment patterns in the absence of a proposed date. If you want to discuss/debate specifics, I am prepared to do so. If, however, you're simply upset by a referrence to "mounting evidence", feel free to assume that Egyptian and Syro-Palestinian archaeology has stood still for the last 5 decades, ignore the referrence and, if you wish, address the topic of OT inerrancy. Whatever the case, I'm sorry that you took offense.

BTW - have you seen the movie "A Day Without A Mexican"?
