What if.......WWIII happens next month

It depends. Will there be food shortages in my area? Will there be bombings near where I live? Will the military try to enforce a draft?

It's conceivable that WWIII could happen and never really personally affect me in the US or other people living in the world super power countries like Russia and China, because it might be fought mostly through proxy wars and attacks on each other's homelands might focus mostly on military operations. WWII did transform the US in a number of ways, but most of the transformations it made, such as forming the military-industrial complex, haven't exactly gone away. The socio-economic effects were widespread, but they affected everyone to different degrees.

I would imagine that WWIII would personally affect me in some capacity, but in what ways and to what degree, I don't know. I could live in a bubble that is virtually untouched by the war, especially because I live in relative isolation on the outskirts of society and work online. At the other extreme, I could be at risk of dying in a famine or a bombing.

If I was to speculate, I think it would be somewhere in the middle, but I think the general direction my life is heading could adapt to continue during that sort of war. I don't think it would escalate to nuclear war or even the total destruction of any of the world superpowers, but I do think many other countries would be decimated. Come to think of it, that is pretty much what happened in the previous two World Wars, too, so there is a tiny bit of inductive support for this idea.

Probably start a WWIII Facts and Information thread.

Seriously, I do think the world is headed for some pretty dramatic changes in the next few years and the upheaval is going to affect all of us.

If I were 20 years younger, I'd probably be stockpiling guns, ammo and food, sharpening up my survival skills, and working on an exit plan.

As it is, at my age, with no kids or grandkids to worry about, whatever happens happens I just consider myself a part of the audience (as long as I have a comfortable seat and popcorn, I'm good).

Well. I'm too old for the draft. I'm trans so I think people like me have fallen out of favor with the military anyways. If I do get conscripted, at least I never changed my last name to Parts.

And now we can look forward to the warning:

What's your plan?
Do you have a plan?
Will a plan even matter?(everything gets nuked)

It depends. If it is an all out that includes the most potent biological weapons it won't matter in most cases for a lot of people. We including me would die as for one of these factors:: Direct hits, fall out, nuclear winter or the effect of a biological weapon.

I don't think Europeans will be in on it.
Because war is an unthinkable concept in Europe...in the 21st century.
