What is a Perizzite?

I am trying to get a feel for a general concept in the Torah and what it can teach.

Therefore, as an example of the Torah, can someone teach me what is significant about the Perizzites, or does it work that way?

Can't help you with a specific answer, but weren't the Perizzites like Canaanites, basically ancestors of the Israelites? There could be a blood connection or perhaps something akin to the relationship between Minoans and Greeks (different people but the former influenced the latter).
