What is ital food?

Hello People :)

Is ital food like halal or kosher foods? Are Rastas vegetarians?

I haven't seen any Rastafari here for a long time, so I'll go ahead and answer. Perhaps if one is about, they can answer it better than me.

As far as I remember, Big Dave (The Rastafari janitor in my college :D) was a vegetarian. Ital is pretty tricky to label, because how strict or loose you follow it seems to be a personal choice, and he said to me a long time ago that food is supposed to be natural, none of this GM stuff.

Many Rastas don't drink alcohol or tobacco, and most tend to avoid pork and shellfish, but some go all the way to avoiding all red meat, or to all meat and all dairy.

Wikipedia has a pretty good article on it here (but it needs a bit of cleaning up imo). :)

I suppose you could say it's a mix of kosher, halal and organic living rolled into one. :D

This is pretty much bang-on as far as I'm aware.
