Life to me is the one and only thing I truly possess… for my entire life. It’s important for me to take care of it, hold it at the highest value, and make the most of it. I think self development in all three mind, body, and soul has given my life purpose, and makes me all the more appreciative of life.

Life is a story, a game. It’s an experience full of experiences. The more I get to experience (even things as simple as enjoying a coffee in the morning and watching the birds out my window, going for walks, and watching myself grow for the better: mentally and physically) the more fulfilled I feel.

One thing I know is even though I always want and strive for more, which is only natural as a human, I am also grateful for what I have. And with what I have, the simple things, I live as many moments as I can as if I will reflect on those specific moments at the time of my death. And I’ll ask myself - am I happy with how I lived my life? Did I live the best I can?

When I consider the term "life" I have recently begun to think of it quite broadly. I see the term "life" referring to all life on earth in its entirety, that it represents a single entity or organism. I see this entity as having a single imperitive and that imperative is to exist. Given the imperative, the organism Life adapts itself to expoit as many environments and resources that it can, and given the reality that the cosmos is under continual change, the organism Life leverages that fact in employing reproductive techniques that take advantage of random change as well as mechanisms such as sexual reproduction to induce continual variation. By creating a proliferation of parts that vary in a wide range of degrees, some portions of the organism Life continue to exist despit constantly changing conditions.

Just as we can diferentiate and categorize parts of a cell, yet see the cell as a whole, we do the same for multicellular entities, categorizing differentiated cell groups as organs, yet seeing the compilation of organs forming an identifiable unit. In this way, differentiated life forms on earth can be seen simply as differentiated parts of the same entity/organism, Life.

Interesting. So are you of the opinion that life is a sort of 'force of nature'? Do you think there is a purpose to this force of nature, as in, some reason it exists?

I appreciate your answer, it's an interesting way to think of things. But I was more so asking about the phenomenon you would call life you experience as an individual, the moment of your birth to the moment of your death.

My position is that there is insufficient information to asign difinitive reasons as to why Life exists. Speculating, it seems chance or accident the most likely reason to me. The word "purpose" to me implies the intent of some agent, and to date I see no evidence of such an agent.

I find the phrase "force of nature" an interesting one. While Life definitely seems a product of nature, the natural laws that govern the cosmos, I would say that initially it could not be considered a force in and of itself. Now that parts or aspects of Life exhibit a conciousness that can anticipate and predict potential outcomes and is not strictly bound by simple cause and effect of natural forces playing out, but instead has the capacity to cause future events or outcomes, it might be reasonable to consider Life as another active force in the cosmos.

I assumed that was your intent. I just thought I would share what jumps to my mind initially when one asks about "life". :)

Life.. Its the greatest journey we will ever be on.

Life.. Its the longest thing any of us will ever do. Some just do it longer than others.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
First it's willingness and necessity of survival while minimizing suffering with compassion. Secondly it's joy, peace, and love when you have the freedom to fulfill your goals.

Self-reflection can be rewarding. But don't confine your entire existence to your physical body as it is still open for discussion whether or not we are 100% material.
I believe we are souls who have physical bodies that carry us through this life and allow us to function mentally and physically.
I believe that the soul is the sum total of the personality so it is the person himself; the physical body is pure matter with no real identity.

If that was the case, you would have remembered the last time around.

What reason is there to think that there was a last time around?
I do not believe in reincarnation. I believe that the soul comes into existence at the time of conception.
Reincarnation makes absolutely no sense to me because there is absolutely NO REASON why we would ever need to come back to this world....
We will continue to progress in the next world so we don't need to come back here to progress.

We have one chance to get it right and that is fair. If for any reason our life is cut short of we are unable to do what is needed to prepare our lives in the the next world there will be a recompense from God in the next world.
