What is "normal"

We Never Know

No Slack
Does normal even exist or is it just a mental/social construct that differs for everyone.

What is normal to Bob may not be normal for Bill, and what is normal to Bill may not be normal for Bob.

Bob thinks Bill should accept his normal.

Bill thinks Bob should accept his normal.

Neither one wants to comprimise and they become hateful and bitter with each other to a point of where they see the other as a threat.

It seems to be the world we live in today.

How about this? :)

Bob tells Bill "I accept the fact that what is normal for me, it isn't for you. I accept that. I will try to understand that. But I also invite you to understand why that thing is normal for me".

What about simply accepting and understanding that we cannot agree on everything?
If we did agree on everything, it would be preoccupying. It would mean we are just copycats, imitating one another in a vicious circle.

I think I see where you're headed.

That said, we generally agree that "without disease" is normal, and we seek to cure diseases.

"Normal" refers to the general context within which something is being assessed, not to an actual ting or person being assessed. A person cannot be "normal" or "abnormal". They can only be assessed as such in relation to whatever is being considered to be the "normal" contextual parameters.

It's not the person, it's the contextual parameters.

I think its a pretty good assessment.

Normal is basically what a person is accustomed to over a long period of time.

I wasn't talking about a person. Just in general
