What is provable science?

I recently saw a post where a claim was made that provable science aligns with God and the Bible. Further, disdain was shown for theoretical science. No description of either of these was offered and no reason for favoring one over the other was offered.

I have no idea what provable science is and wondered if anyone can provide a description, explanation and examples of provable science.

I never heard of provable science either.

I think its a made up term.

My guess is that it's non-science people creating a Straw Man of the fact scientific theories are called theories, without knowing what a scientific theory really is, and using things like logic (formal) and visuals to try to prove their beliefs over scientific theory.
I think you may be onto something here.

That's why I call some things theory which ought to be based on fact, and others simply ideas, which is based on concept. Imagination.

Some fundamentalists that I've encountered believe reality is exactly what you see, and that's pretty much it. Which is a bad mindset to have if one goes mushroom hunting.
It would be a difficult mindset to have in many instances. It is a set of blinders that allow certain information to pass and reject other information, but with no strict criteria for sorting and only personal opinion to determine what passes to acceptance. Which varies.

I go with something similar.
There are theories based on facts (ie. My theories).
There are simply ideas based on imagination (ie. What everyone else does).

I wouldn't recommend this approach to anyone else, for obvious reasons.

You should call those type of fundies 'hardcore materialists' and then ask them why they hate God.

Might not end well, but the looks on their face would be amusing.

Turn the way you do science and think around,

Assume scripture is the answer.
Provable science is that which agrees with scripture.

Noahs Flood.
There was a worldwide flood because scripture says so.

Any science that does not confirm this is not provable.

That is how fundamentalists think.

An admission of science illiteracy and ignorance as science doesn't prove things.

Naive Materialism, the unquestioning belief in the primacy of the physical universe: And that all things, including consciousness, emerge from material substance.

Biblical literalists are forced to strongly restrict the field of applicability of science, for obvious reasons. Therefore, they insist that only "provable" science is science. Meaning: only what can be experimented (typically in a lab), and "proved" to be repeatably true, is science.

They need to do so in order to exclude things like Geology, Cosmology, Biology, Anthropology, Palaeontology, etc. from science. They call all those disciplines "secular" science. Go figure.

If it isn't provable, it is not science.
So, I suspect it is a term invented by a non-scientist
