what is the best computer protection?

i'm using Bitdefender 9 right now, but i was wanting to get everyones input on this. What is the best antivirus, antispam, etc etc?

1. Disconnecting your computer from the internet.
2. Getting a Mac, because no one ever targets that embarassment of an operating system.
3. If you still want to use the internet while using PC, buy an external HD with norton ghost.

I use AVG. It's the best free thing I've found. That in combination with Firefox lets me sleep at night.

I'm installing a linux system next week. Any suggestions on distributions?

Hemmed in, trojans everywhere. I think i need to bring in the heavy artillery. reinstalling windows.

I've done that three times because nothing else has worked, but now my computer is safe with bitdefender, norton, avg, outpost firewall, kerio firewall, and windows built in firewall. I think i might have overcompensated.

There is no such thing as overcompensation with computer protection.

jedi, if you're useing the norton firewall it's recommended you shut off the windows firewall. Check the installation and operation manuals, but i understand there's little benefit in "stacking" different protection software for the same function.
