What is the Greatest Simpsons Episode of All Time?

This is a highly controversial topic. Before we begin, I ask that we all try as best we can to maintain a civil and polite discourse.

I personally favor the episode where Homer gets recruited to work for Hank Scorpio, a Bond-style super villain, and The Simpsons move to a "perfect" suburb.

A quote from the episode: [in the remedial class at Bart's new school, he asks the kids why they are there. The following is spoken very slowly by one child...] "I'm from Ca-na-da, and they think I'm slow, eh?"

I was just talking about this at work today.... I can't remember the name or episode number, but it's the one where Homer continues to eat the huge sandwich even as it gets moldy and Marge tosses it out..... and Homer grabs it out of the garbage and continues to eat it.

Cracks me up.

*Homer, sick and shivering and pale, looks at the moldy sandwich* "This is all your fault! I....aww, I can't stay mad at you," *attempts to take a bite of the sandwich--Marge grabs it*

Yeah that is a great one....and Lisa drinks that water, and goes "I am the lizard queen!"

What about the Simpsons Spinoff Showcase episode? That's gotta be up there....

Principle Skinner: "It was Big Daddy alright, he left his calling card. It's right here under the skull."

Three words: See My Vest

Are you sure you want to go through with this sir? You do have a very full wardrobe as it is.

Mr. Burns
Yes. But not completely full. You see,

Some men hunt for sport,
others hunt for food
The only think I'm hunting for
Is an outfit that looks good

See my vest, see my vest,
Made from real gorilla chest
Feel this sweater, there's no better
Than authenitc Irish Setter!
See this hat, 'twas my cat
My evening wear, a vampire bat
These white slippers are albino
African endangered rhino!
Grizzly bear underwear
Turtle's necks, I've got my share
Beret of poodle on my noodle it shall rest!
Try my red robin suit
Comes one breast or two
See my vest, see my vest, see my vest!

Like my loafers? Former gophers!
It was that or skin my chauffers
But a greyhound fur tuxedo would be best
So let's prepare these dogs!

Mrs. Potts
Kill two for matching clogs!

Mr. Burns
See my vest!
See my vest!
Oh, please, won't you see my veeesssst!

(Spoken): I really like the vest!

Smithers
I gathered, yeah.

~ From episode 2F18: 'Two Dozen and One Greyhounds'.

I also like the monorail episode...mostly for the very end, where we get a glimpse of the escalator to nowhere... :biglaugh:

Love your new avatar, Bastet!

One of my favorite is where the Simpsons family goes on a vacation to the beach (using the Flanders' beachhouse) and Lisa becomes one of the cool kids for awhile. She only just barely manages to escape the siren call of the local library.

It is the episode where Springfield vs. Shelbyville. It wasn't the most original idea but the jokes were flying free and fast all at the expense of each town's stereotypes (Shelbyville version Milhouse, Shelbyville version of Homer). It seems to surprise me and keep me laughing every time I see it.

Um.. that is to say... that I-uh I love your avatar too, Bastet.

What's the one where the German kids are there for some reason? "Choc-o-lot". Lol, I haven't seen that one in ages, but I remember it being hilarious.

My personal favourite is the one where Homer is hypnotised and remembers finding a dead body while swimming at the quarry as a child. I have to say though, a lot of my enjoyment value in this one is the fact that Homer's non-stop screaming cracks my other half up to the point of tears, and that is always good value.

I like the halloween episode where they did the spoof of the Shining, "the Shinning".

Homer: No beer and no TV make Homer something something.
Marge: Go crazy?
Homer: Don't mind if I do!!
