What is the highest/best virtue?

Thoughts on this? Is there one virtue that is more admirable than all others? Or are they all about equal?

I think that one virtue must be balanced by others. To love is not enough, it should be coupled with justice and other things. Love is a very general idea applied to many aspects of life. However, if one were not to choose any religion or ideology to follow I would say that the best thing every human being should do is to simply follow the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Truly simple

I think UNDERSTANDING is a good starting point. Before we can share LOVE it is important to UNDERSTAND what LOVE is (or isn't). Compassion, or better yet, consideration. My all time favorite is still RESPECT.

Respect is a good one, and understanding too. But I don't have to understand or respect someone to have compassion for them.

Love is the highest virtue. In Jesus' last few hours before his death he encouraged his apostles of the need to love one another (John 13.34, 35; 15:12, 13, 17). Years later, Peter, shortly before Jerasulem's destruction emphasized the importance of love by telling the congregation, "...above all things have intense love for one another". The Bible talks of "agape" love. This kind of love requires stretching our heart and extending love even when it may be challenging to do so. It's the kind of love that we have to work at, that we need to cultivate the right heart to obtain. Love is definitely the highest virtue.

I personally believe that the most important virtue is tolerance. Even if you don't love, have no compassion, but are tolerant of others....you will die off without affecting anyone else. We need to concentrate not so much on ourselves so much as on others. If we do this, we will improve automatically.

Love, what all religions have in common (or did before man got a hold of them). Jesus, Buddha, and many others had many different teachings, but they all wanted us to love each other.

Unconditional love. Respect is way up there too.

I thik it is respect hands down. If we all had respect for others and most definatly for ourselves I think everything els would naturally fall into place.
