What is the mystery of the kingdom?

How about "despot?"
That's man's job.
God's been trying to do away with tyranny since the beginning.
But, since there are those who really want that, He allows for it.
In other words, He allows men to create their own hells, even in His name.
But, there does come a time when those who truly "get it" get Him as their personal King and lawgiver.

Actually, that's God's job. He called himself "despot" long before the word was used against men who thought they were God and mistreated their fellows... The word simply means ruler without challenge

Jeremiah 15:11 The [despota] LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

Daniel 9:8 O [despota] Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.

Daniel 9:15 And now, [despota] O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

Daniel 9:16 O [despota] Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.

Daniel 9:17 Now therefore, O our [despota] God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the [despota] Lord's sake.

Daniel 9:19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my [despota] God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

Luke 2:29 Despota [Lord], now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

Acts 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, despota [Lord], thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

1 Timothy 6:2 And they that have believing despotas masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

2 Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the despotas master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Titus 2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own despotais masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

not necessarily. Ever hear of a kingdom ruled by a parlaiment?
right, over its citizens.
Exactly, King David over the citizens of the kingdom.
Who said that? You left out the king who is over the kingdom as its governing head.

Left out? Doesn't Revelation 11 v 15 mention 'Christ as Lord' ?

Kingdom ruled by a parliament as in England still has a sovereign king over it.
Just as the branches of the US government has a president over it.
So, too God's kingdom has kings and priests ruling with Jesus as Sovereign king.
-Revelation 5 vs 9,10; 20 v 6; 14 vs 1-4

It is through God's heavenly government [kingdom] which will end satanic influence over earth.
Those serving with Christ are 'joint-heirs' with Christ according to Romans 8 v 17
Those serving as 'kings' with Christ will take care of governmental needs of earthly subjects of God's kingdom during Jesus 1000-year reign over earth. -Psalm 72 v 8
Those serving as 'priests' with Christ will take care of the spiritual needs of earthly subjects of God's kingdom during Jesus millennial reign over earth.

.....besides despot how about benevolent dictator ?
or, instead of despot or dictator insert God as: 'Sovereign Lord' ?

God has having supremacy in rule or power who, in the final analysis, determines the government of the state or of earth during Jesus coming 1000-year reign over earth.

God has being the Source of all authority constituting all three branches of government [judicial, legislative, and executive] as being Judge,Statute-giver, and King.
-Isaiah 33 v 22; Deuteronomy 10 v 17; Psalm 19 vs 7-11

God as Creator being the Source because man can not successfully direct his step.
So, we need God as Sovereign to step in and he will.
-Jeremiah 10 v 23; 17 v 9; Isaiah 11 vs 3,4

Please consider that the time for the Father's Kingdom is on Day 1 of each cycle of Creation.
Please take careful notice that there are two kingdoms that exist at that time.

There is Father's Kingdom, which is composed of those of the Light.
There is Satan's Kingdom, which is composed of those of the Dark.

One Kingdom has spiritual life.
One Kingdom has spiritual death.

Just because those who are in Satan's Kingdom are spiritually dead doesn't mean they won't yet be physically present upon the planet during this time period. The difference is that they will not have power over the Father's Kingdom and they will be confined only to the places of their dominion. Thus, the Father will be able to acquire a measure of rest in that the hands of the adversary will be tied due to the righteousness of the people abiding within His Kingdom.

King John was definitely the last truly absolute monarch, as it was Magna Carta which he was virtually forced to sign up to in 1215 that took away the power of the monarch to levy taxes by decree. It required that no tax could be levied without the agreement of a "great council", defined by Magna Carta. That "great council" was the beginnings of Parliament.

If the king cannot levy taxes without permission from the parlaiment, it is parliament that rules. The power to levy taxes is the ultimate power.

It was prophecied about for centuries before it happened. That sort of is a contradiction. If you predict something is going to happen, can it still be a mystery?

No..hang on. ...the isrealites thought Jesus was going to came and kick some roman booty. What he did instead was die. Yes, that could be a mystery.

But even though that is mysterious, is that all that is too it. Surely there is MUCH more to it.

Heneni,
You actually got part right, Jesus is a part of the mystery. It is about him having a Kingdom. In a Kingdom there must be rulers and subjects.
Notice that the Bible says that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom, 1Cor 15:50. Since Jesus went back to heaven, he is a mighty spirit creature, 1Pet 3:18, Acts 2:29-33, Phil 2:5-9, 2Cor 5:16.
The Bible also tells us that some men from earth will be co-heirs with Jesus in heaven and because of this they will get the same resurrection that Jesus received, Rom 8:17, Rev 7:3,4, 20:4-6, 5:9,10, 14:1-5, Rom 6:3-5. Notice in verse Rev 7:4, 14:3, says the number to make up these kings is 144, 000. Notice that this number is contrasted with a great crowd, which no man can number, Rev 7:9. This contrast is significant because the rulers will be small when contrasted the the ones ruled over, part being the ones who come out of the Great Tribulation, Rev 7:14, and the other ones who will be resurrected, John 5:28,29.
You see, the purpose of God is to have people living on earth forever, so when Jesus comes and sets up his Thousand Year reign as King, Jesus, along with his co-heirs will teach all people on earth how to regain the perfection that Adam and Eve had before they rebelled against God.
Notice how God has stated His PURPOSE, in several scriptures, Gen 1:26-28, Isa 45:18, Ps 115:16, Psalms 37:29, Matt 5:5.
Think about this, if God wanted men in heaven, He would have created them there. God created man from the dust of the ground, and returns to dust when he dies, Gen 3:19.
God never meant for mankind to die!! WE know today, that man is made to reproduce all his cells in just a few years, so if this process were perfect as is was then, we would never die. The problem is, when Adam sinned against God, he became flawed, he was imperfect, and began to die, and he passed on this imperfection to all mankind that were born in the future,Rom 5:12.
God did not want His creation to continue forever in the condition we are in so He sent His son to earth to give his life for us so we would have the same blessings that God was going to bestow on Adam and Eve, John 3:16, Matt 20:28, 1Tim 2:3-6. For us to be able to benefit from this Great Ransom Sacrifice we MUST recognize what God has done for us and try to follow in Jesus footsteps, 1Pet 2:21, Acts 4:14, 2Thess 1:6-10.

Satan and his demons will be abyssed during Jesus' coming 1000-year reign over earth according to Revelation chapter 20.

Just like the kingdom of England is a real kingdom government, and the kingdom of Jordan is a real kingdom government, God's kingdom of Daniel chapter 2 is also a real kingdom government, with Jesus as crowned king of God's theocratic kingdom government in the hands of Christ Jesus.

-Daniel 2 v 44; 7 vs 13,14; Isaiah 9 v 7

True God's kingdom has spiritual life, and also physical life. [ everlasting life ]
Satan's kingdom has both spiritual death and literal death.- Rev 21 v 8
The 'second death' of No further life anywhere in heaven or on earth.

Steps to understanding the REAL mystery: themysteryofgod.org

- What is "The Mystery"?
The mystery itself is a veil of parables that both Jesus and the biblical writers use throughout the Holy Bible as a hidden system of communication. This system allows them to secretly embed information within the use of their words.

- What does "The Mystery" hide?
Exactly what Jesus said, The Knowledge of God's Kingdom.

- What is the "Knowledge of God's Kingdom"?
It is the literal scientific knowledge of Light, Life, and Immortality. For real.

- How can parables, proverbs, psalms, prophetic visions, similitudes, riddles, miraculous stories, and lengthy genealogies convey a literal scientific knowledge?
By the ingenious manner in which they are written and the method the writers used to connect them together.

- The disciples asked Jesus why he spoke to the people in parables, he responded: "Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: But unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand;"
What exactly did Jesus mean by his response?

1. He hid the knowledge of God's kingdom within the use of his words.
2. His words were used in PARABLES.
3. The parables were used to teach the people.
4. He taught from place to place.
5. Those who believed and FOLLOWED him were his disciples.
6. He expounded all things to his disciples when they did not understand.
7. The disciples received the knowledge of God's kingdom.
8. Those who didn't believe and follow him were "without".
9. Those who were "without" could see and hear him, but could not perceive or understand his words because he spoke them in a mystery of parables.
10. The non-disciples did not receive the knowledge of God's kingdom.

Annoyingly Progressive Since 2006
the mystery is that, even though we are diverse, we are one; even though we stand alone, we are interdependent; even though God is God, we are God's children; even though we are hateful, we are loved; even though we sin, we are forgiven; even though we are mortal, we share God's immortality; even though Jesus was fully human, he is also fully God; even though God is Sovereign, we have free will.

Has anyone figured it out?

Heneni,
The Kingdom as spoken of by Paul is The Messianic rule of Jesus over the world for the thousand year judgement day. In this Kingdom, Jesus is pictured as a Bridegroom. I you have a bridegroom, you must have a bribe. The bride is the Christian congregation that make up the Bride, 2Cor 11:2, Rev21:2. They are also called the New Jerusalem, and these are numbered 144,000, Rev 7:3,4, 14:1-5, 3:12. Jesus said that the group would be a little flock, Luke 12:32, when compared with the great multitude mentioned at Rev 7:9, contrasted with the 144,000. This great multitude is the people on earth who come through the Great Tribulation, and along with the billions resurrected, will make up the people on earth who will be ruled by the Bridegroom and the Bride, New Jerusalem.
This is the mystery that was not understood for thousands of years. Jesus would take to Heaven a Little Flock, 144,000, who will be Kings and Priests over the earth, during the Thousand Year Judgement Day, Rev 20:4-7. Some people will survive the Great Tribulation, many will be resurrected and live in a paradise earth with death being gone forever, Rev 21:3, 4. The ones who are resurrected to heaven will be resurrected immortal, they cannot die, just as Jesus cannot again, Rom 6:9, 5, 1Cor 15:51-54. These are part of the first resurrection, mentioned at Rev 20:6. These are the ones who are BORN AGAIN, mentioned at John 3:3-8. These one are a New Creation, Gal 6:15, 2Cor 5:17, The Israel of God, Gal 6:16, Rom 2:28,29. These are BORN of GOD, not of flesh and blood, John 1:11-13, and will be immortal in heaven, with Jesus.
With the explanation of the Mystery, now we can see how God's will is worked out for the earth, Isa 45:18, for people will live on earth forever, Ps 37:29, ruled over by a Little Flock in heaven, Col 1:26,27. The ones in heaven will help the ones on earth to bring this world to the paradise conditions that was God's original purpose, Gen 1:26-28.
All who do not want to live in obedience to God, Jehovah will be thrown into the Lake of Fire, The SECOND DEATH, Rev 20:14,15

Jehovah our God is One
Has anyone figured it out?

the sacred secret revolves around the identity of the one prophesied in Genesis 3:15..the 'seed' who would bruise the serpents head.

Jesus said to his disciples: “To you the sacred secret [Gr., my·ste′ri·on] of the kingdom of God has been given, but to those outside all things occur in illustrations, in order that, though looking, they may look and yet not see, and, though hearing, they may hear and yet not get the sense of it, nor ever turn back and forgiveness be given them.”—Mr 4:11, 12; Mt 13:11-13; Lu 8:10.

The disciples came to learn that Jesus was that promised seed or "messiah". So Jesus is the sacred secret.

Ultra am I right in saying then, that you believe that the mystery of the kingdom is the fact that it is everywhere.

You sound like a person who already has the answer to the question you asked. Why don't you just tell them what the good news of the Kingdom is?

You might find this interesting.

3) Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."
Gospel of thomas
Gospel of Thomas (Lambdin Translation) -- The Nag Hammadi Library

20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’[a] For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
Luke 17:20-21

Yes,I agree that kingdom is everywhere.I mean God is everywhere.Jesus said, 'the kingdom of God is at hand, repent'. God is everywhere, realize this truth, experience this truth.then you can say my life is not my lif but God's life and my actions are not my actions but God's actions, that is the kingdom of God.Jesus said, 'the works which I do are not my own but the Father who dwells in me does his work'.

"Mystery of the Kingdom"

Mystery means the way something works or unfolds.

Kingdom means a spreading of a particular point.

So the Mystery of the Kingdom is all the workings of God, yet we can't really grasp God, we can try but when we think we have him figured out he throws us another curve-ball.
