What is wrong with those people who listen to music?

What is wrong with those people who listen to music?

Absolutely nothing. Music is one of the great joys of life. So now you tell me, what's wrong with people like you who insist on constantly judging what everyone else does? Why does it bother you so much that other people get joy from the music they listen to? Why are you so adamantly against people having joy in their lives? What kind of a horrible god do you worship who wants everyone to be miserable all of the time?

What is wrong with me asking what is wrong with those people who...?

You come off as extremely judgmental. You act as if it's your job to go around scolding people for doing things they enjoy. Is it an attempt to make yourself feel 'special'? Do you consider yourself 'better' than people who enjoy music... or all of the other people you ask "what is wrong with people who...?"

So go ahead and answer: Why are you so adamantly against people having joy in their lives?

No reply, soviet child? What's up with that? You're constantly asking other people questions, but you seem to have a real aversion to answering any yourself. So come on... why are you so opposed to people finding joy in their lives?

If there is nothing wrong, then there is nothing wrong. No need to take it farther. Why are you so upset about this topic anyways? Is your life depends on music? I suggest you to abstain from music for just a week.

You've been told that in literally every thread you've ever titled "What is wrong with people who...?"

No need to take it farther.

So why do you persist?

Why are you so upset about this topic anyways?

Your incessant judgementalism and spamming of threads is a little wearing. Or do you believe it's unreasonable for people to express the emotions they feel?

Does your life depend on judging others? I suggest you abstain from being judgemental for just a week lifetime.

Because it's my attempt at trying to prove the superiority of Islam. What is wrong with those people who reject Islam after hearing the message of the prophet (pbuh)?

Who is judging? Are you not judging me by telling me what I believe? What is wrong with those people who spam threads? I can't eat spam anyway because I'm a Muslim and pork is haram. So how can I spam? What is wrong with those people who eat spam?

Will you abstain from music for a week?

Right? Please.

Regards.

Look what music does to musicians themselves. It makes them crazy, just like a drug.
No, I'm pretty sure that drugs make some musicians crazy. Others are not so crazy (or crazy at all), and their music is a vehicle for culture and faith. I will never understand your cultures that label it - and other forms of art - as sinful or wrong.

I suggest you to abstain from music, for just a week or two.
Tell you what; if you can abstain from needlessly criticizing literally everything that other people do, I'll consider it. Quid pro quo, Clarice.

Let’s agree on something. Music makes one high. Right? It gives one an ecstasy feeling, relaxes one and makes one happy, but is everything that makes you happy good for you? Probably not.

Just like a drug, one can become addicted to music. If one were to listen to music every day, then what kind of a reaction would one receive? I mean look what music does to people. Look what music does to musicians themselves. It makes them crazy, just like a drug.

I suggest you (RF forum users) to abstain from music, for just a week or two. Since you are part of the religious community you might as well experiment it. There is an action and reaction. You might as well try it and see what kind of reaction one would receive if he were to abstain from music. I guarantee you, isolation from music will do you good. It will calm you down.
If your religion makes you happy, would you be willing to abstain from it for two weeks? Similar logic seems to apply.

I don't get this question. I both listen to and play music every day, and even focus on the rhythm of certain styles of music to help me sleep. What do you mean "what kind of a reaction would one receive?"

That's not the music, but a life of being constantly on the road and always around people who want to party.
I suggest you (RF forum users) to abstain from music, for just a week or two.
Why would I ever even consider giving up something that actually brings me pleasure?
I guarantee you, isolation from music will do you good. It will calm you down.
Whenever I brake a guitar string, my heart strings snap right along with it. A piece of equipment goes down and I can focus on nothing else until it's fixed. And things such as Celtic music, Gregorian chanting, or a beautiful violin or piano piece do calm me down and feel relaxed.

Joy is a VERY important part of my life and I find immense joy in music, so why are you SO intent upon me giving it up? Why are you so obsessed with how other people find joy in their lives? It's almost as if your insulted that they are happy. I find it terribly sad that your life appears to be so miserable that you have this need to attack anyone who isn't as miserable as you are.

I suggest that you start searching for joy in your life as well, instead of getting yourself all worked up because other people are happy.

Listening to music / sound allows us to tap into a greater divinity outside of our mundane existence. Creating music allows us to experience being Creators / Gods and is even more important to exercise.

"Why is music called the divine art, while all other arts are not so called? We may certainly see God in all arts and in all sciences, but in music alone we see God free from all forms and thoughts. In every other art there is idolatry. Every thought, every word has its form. Sound alone is free from form. Every word of poetry forms a picture in our mind. Sound alone does not make any object appear before us."

Actually, isolation from music healed me. I used to be a musician myself. So, if it can heal me, it can heal you.
