I do not like cakes, I prefer kebabs. But my grandsons like cake, and that too chocolate cakes. Well, they will grow up, they will graduate to kebabs. :D

Eastern Orthodox
Probably German chocolate.

Are there dessert kebabs? Most I know of are entrees.

Is there a food traditionally eaten on birthdays, in India?
The closest is Kheer (Rice Pudding) or Sweetened Rice in our family. Non-veg. food is banned on birthdays (curtesy my wife), though I have been agitating for it for a long time.

The traditional main fair could be 'Dum Aloo' ("Dum" means slow-cooked, and "aloo" is potato), Scottish cheese with ground spinach, sour eggplant, "Dum' jackfruit or zaminkand (Amophophalus) too (the way we Kashmiris make it, everything slow-cooked), lentils and rice. I like potato, jackfruit and zaminkand. I love them the way my wife makes them.

Anything non-veg., any time.
