Yes. Born here too in what used to be called New Philippines by Spaniards.

I am descended from people from the UK, Ireland, and Western/Northern Europe.

I love Hinduism, but does it appeal to us American mutts as a general rule?

My impression is that Buddhism has more of an appeal. Its appeal, I think, is due to the lack of belief in God, and the Buddha's insistence that individuals test out his doctrine before committing themselves to it.

I've been told that I look like I'm fresh off the boat from Ireland. One time, a Polish German woman said I look like a German German in America. Have you ever been told something like that about yourself?

I haven't been to any of them yet. I'm hoping to one day, however.

I've noticed we get a few Black folks now and then, too. Never seen any Latino people in the temple, though.

This reminds me that there is a large Hindu presence in Ghana.

That is encouraging. I would like to go to a Hindu temple but I don't want to stand out. I am shy and insecure.

I remember reading once of a large Hindu community in Africa somewhere, surprisingly without an Indian diaspora. Apparently, a African convert had really made an impression in his area, and the interest spread to others.

That is encouraging. I would like to go to a Hindu temple but I don't want to stand out. I am shy and insecure.

I felt very shy and insecure too at first, but it was so worth it. Most people will help you with what you need to do.

I remember at our first trip, during aarti, a man who had been in the kitchen ran in and pushed my husband forward with excitement and told him "you can do this, too!"

yes, I consider myself a disciple of Jesus of Nazareth and his generic gospel of the Kingdom, but that gospel was largely forgotten and replaced by a religion about Jesus mixed with Pagan ritual etc. so I don't call myself a Christian. Jesus would have acknowledged elements of spiritual truth in all religions.

Never had anyone say that before, but I got a DNA test done once, out of curiosity. The results were the most boringly white thing you can imagine.

Sounds like my results. UK, Ireland, and Western/Northern Europe. Nothing interesting to me like Basque, Southern/Southeastern European, or Eastern European. Fortunately, what you and I ultimately are is far from boring, and it's imperishable unlike the body.

Variated elemental pacifism. We describe the universe with passive elements, and cosmic order. We believe in human nature. Basically Aether is the simplest element, air (vacuum) exist in it, that spawned the fire, and that creates light; and true love, pacifism, faith, and knowledge exist in that order. Basically we believe that the universe is based a variation of elemental order. We would think that the universe is based on a variation between pacifism and density (humidity). Our lore describes St. Michael as the Seraph Angel of Fire, and Faith. Faith Himself, and Fire Himself.

No religion but I do enjoy the wisdom of Buddha's teachings as well as Native American spirituality and their views on nature. Along with being an atheist which of course is not a religion.
