I like the things listed in the OP.

I also like when a person reads and responds to what is actually said, without adding in a bunch of (usually erroneous)assumptions.

Practice good communication skills. Pretty much everything I look for can be summed up with this. But, to elaborate a tad...

As a speaker, communicate with clarity and precision. One must bear in mind how terms may be interpreted by the listener, especially on a forum dedicated to topics like religion, where similar words are used very differently by different individuals and traditions. Maintain a respectful tone at all times, and if you must use words with strongly negative connotations, do so with great care. Hostile tone and negatively-slanted verbiage erect communications barriers that are to be avoided.

As a listener, practice active listening. One must endeavor to make the speaker feel that they have been heard and understood, and ideally before voicing one's own opinion and taking on the role of a speaker oneself. Demonstrate that you have listened to what the person said by asking questions about what the speaker said or paraphrasing in your own words. Be as respectful in tone as you would as a speaker.

As a culture, it seems my people are far better at good speaking than good listening. We do not even teach good listening skills in formal education. It's terrible. That results in everybody talking over each other or getting into pointless shouting matches. I have little patience for those kinds of "conversations" - if one can even call them that. I'm far from perfect at practicing good communication skills, but I can certainly say that over a decade of participation on forums like these has dramatically improved them. I hope it does for others as well. :D
