What the world's religious landscape will look like in 2100

By 2100, Muslims will outnumber Christians globally, Pew believe.
"By the year 2100, about 1 per cent more of the world’s population would be Muslim (35 per cent) than Christian (34 per cent)," the authors wrote.
According to the Pew Research Centre, the religiously unaffiliated - referring to atheists, agnostics and other people who do not identify with a religion - are declining as a share of the population.

All Theists (Hindus, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Jews, Christians, Muslims etc.) and Atheists (all shades of Atheism, Agnosticism, Skepticism, Humanism, New Atheism, Anti-Theism etc.) are welcome to comment.

Somebody actually gets paid to pretend like they are somehow able to forecast complex, global social trends for the next 85 years? How do I get that gig?

There's nothing "pretend" about it. It's fairly straightforward to make forecasts for demography if you have information about things like birth rates and death rates, and they tend to be pretty accurate too. If you want that "gig" I suggest starting with learning a thing or two about modeling and how work like this is actually done.

The last sentence is most likely what prompted the post you jumped on.

The OP plainly stated that he was encouraging replies from anyone of any religious or non religious persuasion, and Frankenstein obviously hadn't bothered to read his whole post before commenting, and yes, I think it probably had something to do with the OP being a Muslim.
I am confused.
St. Frank merely commented that since it is not a DIR paarsurry did not need to give everyone permission to post in the thread.
Though I have no idea why St Frank felt the need to mention it, I am even more perplexed by your vicious attack of St Frank.

Perhaps you can expand on that?

That's a bit of a leap - and an irrational one at that.

Haha...

I was being semi-serious...

Why not my depicted utopia instead of modernized reality? And do ya' think modernized reality has what it takes to stand the test of time?

Do you believe that you'll be forgiven in the next, for that which you helped create in the current?!

I prefer reality over wishful thinking.

Nope.
things change.
that is the nature of things.
To change.

Forgiven by who/whom/what?

Why is utopia improbable but the modern age not from the iron age era?

What you're saying underneath all that, is "
to die", rather than "change"---being really lenient with you here by responding at all as well. If you don't pounce on my weaknesses and prance about in front of me, 'poking fun at my beliefs again', I see no reason why not to forgive you all.

Whatever you want to call nature's cubic time!

You can't even defend any reason for Frankenstein's comment yet you can condemn me for pointing out the absurdity of the comment. You accuse me of making a vicious attack for simply pointing out the obvious. Do you ever stop??

PS the OP wasn't giving everyone "permission to post" he was encouraging and welcoming everyone to post, people start threads all the time where the ask certain people not to reply if they are just going to argue, Here someone has the decency to present an article and welcome all people to post, and he is immediately ridiculed for it, And yes IMHO that has a lot to do with the OP being an outspoken Muslim, who's comments are attacked consistently all the time on this forum. Not everyone might agree, but I see treating a poster less respectfully because he is Muslim as prejudice pure and simple.

Because, as we all know, humans are the most predictable of creatures, and they will not deviate at all from trends over eighty-five ****ing years. Not at all. Nothing significant can possibly happen in that span of time!

Well, this thread got weird.

As for a response to the original post, I see no reason to assume anything drastic will change outside of the current trends. Could they? Sure. Who knows.

It's actually a form of reverse prejudice.

As for the OP, after the implosion of Islam in the next 50 years, I highly doubt there will be many who will think to call themselves Muslims left to worry much about it.

The only way Muslims are going to disappear in the next 85 years is through massive genocide, hence my reply above, I can only take comments like these to represent pro genocide philosophy, which obviously I find totally abhorrent. Not that there are not some extremist Muslims that support a pro genocide philosophy against non Muslims and Jews. One wrong does not make another right.

No one is promoting the genocide of Muslims here. If Islam implodes soon, it'll be by their own hands.
