what turns you off from Christianity?

Honestly, what is it that turns you away from embracing Christianity?

Do you feel differently about Jesus than you do Christianity?

Why would anyone who's Christian be turned off by Christianity? Let alone not embracing it? You are posting this in the Christianity DIR, so you won't find many answers.

I am a Christian and sometimes truthfully people who say they are Christians and not live or behave that way, make the Christianity look like something it is not and that is hypocritical. I am guilty of it myself sometimes too.

No, Jesus is what Christianity is all about

@truelight Mike - as noted, this is the Christianity DIR and therefore non-Christians are not really allowed to do anything beyond asking respectful questions.

You may want to consider choosing another area and asking for this thread to be moved to it. I suggest contacting the staff by way of a Site Feedback thread to tell us where you want it to be.

He already started one of the same name under general discussions...although I haven't checked to see if it's still there or not, but I'm pretty sure there were comments after I commented there yesterday...It might actually do to close this one.

i am a Christian, i embrace my faith and what Jesus taught. i do not embrace what the church teaches. i dont care for all the wars in the name of the faith. i dont agree with the idea that the anglo american version is the only true version. i dont care for missionaries that come back from other countries talking about how terrible and backwards these other cultures are because its not a western culture full of walmarts, reality tv, and celebrity worship.

Jesus forewarned us that MANY would come ' in his name ' but prove false - Matthew 7:21-23
Gospel writer Luke wrote that false shepherds (clergy) would fleece the flock of God - Acts of the Apostles 20:28-29
So, there is a BIG difference between embracing Christendom ( so-called Christian but mostly in name only ) and embracing the first-century teachings of Jesus.
So, we should all be turned away if we do Not see the identifying mark of self-sacrificing love as Jesus had for others - John 13:34-35
