What Was I Seeing?

Yesterday, when I was taking a walk in the park, I saw about 20 people playing a game. They were dressed in tunics with belts. They had long thick poles and were hitting a ball that was on the ground. Some people were carrying a shield. It looked like a trash can lid. One guy was crawling on the ground. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the game. Anyone know what this game was?

Was there a short bus anywhere nearby? Seriously, I have no idea... maybe some kind of midevil cosplay polo type game...

*laughs* It sounds kind of like Double Fizbin (sp?) from the classic Star Trek series... Or Tig. Games where you make up the rules as you go along are fun.

Were any of them in kilts?
