Probably because LDS members seem to get picked on by disturbed, self-righteous, sanctimoniousness, disturbed (thought that one was worth mentioning twice) trolls more than the followers of most other religions. :)

I don't know what would be my biggest reason for not joining, but the biggest reasons I would want to join the LDS are the emphasis on family, charity, and striving to make the most out of this life.

impossible to believe would be my call...

1. I don't believe in Christianity, much less the Mormon twist on stuff.

1a. I have read the book of Mormon, and those names are made up. I don't know what Joseph Smith was reading, but it contained no Hebrew.

2. I am happy being a Jew.

3. My religion prohibits me from converting to another religion.

4. Those funky underdrawers look uncomfortably hot to wear.

That was predictably childish, but then again so is the OP.

I don't class mormons as Christians, neither are jw's...

It does not matter how "you" class them.
They believe and follow Jesus teachings like any other Christian.
It is how Christ classes them that matters.

I respect their living faith in Jesus.
However it is a matter of personal faith, I am far to "Liberal" a Christian to either accept or be accepted by them and every thing they believe, to Join them.

I do not believe Joseph Smith was a prophet, nor in Mormon doctrines, it's that simple.

I do, however, like Mormons as people and find their doctrines mostly pretty cool - but it's not for me, even if their doctrines of family, charity, etc are stuff I like. I generally see Mormons as a very Christ-like group of Christians on most things.

Why not?

It looks pretty childish to bother about Mormon's underwear, seriously. Sikhs are required to wear underwear and turbans when they take the Baptism ceremony. If they were that bad, wouldn't people complain about it? Since they don't, well, I guess they aren't that bad.

Why do some people see issue with people's underwear, and on Muslim wearing headscarves, for example?
Seriously.

I just don't get people.

Well, what you want to classify someone as doesn't make any difference. How they define themselves and what they proclaim their beliefs to be is what matters. By that standard, they are Christians, whether you like it or not. And like I said earlier, them being a Christian faith is what prevents me from believing. I rather think most of their beliefs are quite nice actually. Their focus on family and how nice they treat people is rather refreshing compared to most Christians I've encountered.
