We never are.
"I know no one but Krishna as my Lord, and He shall remain so even if He handles me roughly by His embrace or makes me brokenhearted by not being present before me. He is completely free to do anything and everything, for He is always my worshipful Lord, unconditionally." (Sri Sri Shikshashtaka 8)
You do see how closely that would line up with putting up with an abusive partner, right? If the same exact statement is taken with the subjects changed, you get:"I know no one but Krishna as my Lord, and He shall remain so even if He handles me roughly by His embrace or makes me brokenhearted by not being present before me. He is completely free to do anything and everything, for He is always my worshipful Lord, unconditionally." (Sri Sri Shikshashtaka 8)

This all presupposes that God has an anthropomorphic form and our human senses will be intact in the afterlife. I'm not so sure I believe that.
"So, what's with all this Evil you created? And why is it you need to be worshiped; need a little ego boost? What You will say to God seeing Him so so so beautiful ?
Yes, but I don't believe that in an incarnated form He would show Himself in great splendor as a matter of course. I'd think it would be for a special purpose. Krishna had to give Arjuna special divine sight to see Krishna's universal form. At other times, Arjuna saw his human cousin. The same thing pretty much happened when Jesus transfigured in front of his apostles.
What if, he would have askedd; for the time being am talking with you, isn't it ?I will ask God what God does.
What's your question, actually ? das ji.What You will say to God seeing Him so so so beautiful ?
From where are you quoting me? What are we never?"
The common people pray for rain, healthy children, and a summer that never ends. It is no matter to us if the High Lords play their game of thrones, so long as we are left in peace. We never are.
