Didn't know which section to post this. Here will do.

Okay, no, I am not on drugs. But listen to this.

When Iwas about 16, I had a dream involving Death (AKA reaper). It was terrifying. He/she/it (whatever) was hovering with a sickle and had glowing orange eyes in his supposed face. I woke up, frozen solid, literally paralyzed.

Ever since then, I have had consecutive dreams for 12 long years that I can hover, like "him", that I carry a sickle and my eyes glow orange. They happen all the time, 2 times a week ever since.

Also since then, I have found it impossible to make friends, (especially girls).
When before I had heaps. People tend to ignore me alot more ever since.
I have been banned from churches, without misbehaving. The most weird part is that CATHOLIC people, of all, tend to dislike me more than others, and have said that I am "a tad frightening". Life, in general, has gone downhill ever since.

There is also a strange smell when I awake from these dreams, like that of rotting something..every time. It lasts about a few seconds, then disappears.

I don't even do drugs.

If this isn't a Halloween story, then I think I would discuss this dream with a professional.

That's a rather blunt comment, lightkeeper. Do I sit there and make fun of your posts? Nope. Here I am trying to share something, and you make fun of it.
I'll be f'd.

By the way, counselling, if referring to that, is just plain useless.

Man what a rigged system.

What are you talking about? It was neither blunt nor mean. You posted this in the Off_topic section that entails everything from chit chat to humor.

and what is rigged?

And my post was neither of those.

Below this is a thread on "Need ya help". So it would involve the helping of others, wouldn't it?

Why do I even bother? Death can take over me, I wouldn't care.

Besides, I posted something and he said "If this aint a Halloween story......", which meant he thought of it as a joke.

SoulTYPE, if you knew Lightkeeper you would know that she never makes fun of someone's posts. You must have misunderstood her honest attempt at helping you with the problem you posted. So, let's move on from it, shall we? :)

I answered her "attempt". But yes let's move on. Same dream for 13 years? Something aint right there.

Dreams are mysteries things. We do not fully understand where the come from or why. If you are having the same dream over and over and this bothering you, prehaps talking to a mental health care professional about it who could help you analyze where this dream is coming from, would be warranted. It couldn't hurt, right?

Thankyou maisy for the advice, but I have sought counselling over it. I even went through the Advanced Psychiatrist institue doctors. None could find an answer.

Could it be your personality that makes people think you're 'a tad frightening'? I mean, from what little you've posted here, I've seen you blow up at 2 people for no reason whatsoever. That's not a good personality trait. Let me ask you a few things:

1) You're 28, correct? Do you live alone? Jobs?
2) What exactly do you think the dream means? (This one is important)
3) If you've sought professional help, and they havn't been able to help you, why do you think we will be able to? (This links up with #2, are you interpreting it religiously?)

I'm just trying to get a better position on what your situation is, so that maybe we can help you. But if you've honestly gone through multiple phsychiatrists, I don't know how much of a help we'll be.

I had MY reason to "bloe up". But that is a different story.

I do have SOME friends, and they think nice about me. I am extremely generous, and I don't REALLY get angry. Forums and internet are different in that sense. I help out others, when I can. I do work, as a computer operator. I also teach a class in HTML.

As far as what I think the dream means, I have no idea. That is why I am posting it, lol. See if I can gather up some conclusions..

Well, do you think you are death in human form? Or that death is possessing you in some way?

Perhaps is it some sort of a message. Most of my dreams have been nonsensical and can't think of too many that have ever made sense. But perhaps it is some higher being whether in this world or not warning you about something. Telling you to do something or stop something. Try interpretting it as a sign if that helps. And maybe someday the answer will come to you. I don't know if you are a religious person or not but many people in the Bible received mysterious dreams that they never understood at first but eventually the message was clear.

If the grim reaper in your dreams is your symbol for death, then try to identify what that symbol means in your waking existence. Keep a dream journal. When it appears in your dream, try to be conscious of other outside stimuli until you can figure out the message. It seems apparant that the image of death in your dreams is not meant for you if you have been dreaming about it for this long. Though I am concerned with your fear of death, you should never fear anything-especially death. Once you realize this, there is a good chance that the dreams will stop occuring. Also if the dream occurs again, try to take control of the dream or get death to respond to your questions. Immediately wake up after the dream is over to write your findings in your dream journal to analyze at a later time.

How do I go about that? I can't just say "Bah, had enough of this dream. I'm gettin up now".

But thankyou for the good advice anyways. :) It's good advice!

If you can realize you're dreaming, you can usually snap yourself out of it. The hard part is just realizing it's a dream.

Actually that is about it. Remind yourself before you go to bed that you will wake up if you encounter this dream then just wake up. Keep in mind that you are doing this because you want to REMEMBER the dream. If you wait till morning or when you normally wake up, there is a good chance the memory of the dream will dissipate. I have the confidence that you can go this alone. REMEMBER-no fear.

You can dialogue in your journal with the characters in the dream. With pencil in hand talk to "death" and ask him/her a question and then write down the reply.
