What's Wrong With Racism?

i don't get how people can talk like racism is something that everyone just has. The fear of put bulls because of a negative experience is not the same as fearing an entire subgroup of people. Essentially you're delegating an entire group into being incapable of rational thought, incapable of feeling, incapable of wanting he same thing as you because of a belief or superiority. It's also interesting the assumption that a social construct such as racism would simply be an internal and not expressed externally. Very few people if any are capable of feelings or beliefs, a fear, or contempt without allowing it to be pushed into a more outward agenda. Those people encourage policies and laws based around those beliefs. They vote for laws and policies based on those beliefs.

I don't see blacks as less than me. I just don't like them based on experience.

I won't force you to not be racist, but the way I view it racism is pointless, we are all children of the higher power. I do see where you're coming from though, I had some pretty bad experiences with black people to, but I had bad experiences with whites as well, and has met some pretty cool blacks.

But I see no evidence for a higher power. Is your non-racism based on religion?
I do and don't at the same time, I do believe racism is pointless on a religious term, but also dealing with experiences. Like I just edited, I had bad experiences with blacks to, but I also met some pretty nice chill ones.

I have black friends, too. But so what? Blacks are so much more rude than any other group in the US.

Do you drive? Everytime a black person crosses the road, they take their merry time. I've even had black pedestrians flip the bird at me for no reason while they cross. When I see a black person in a store or restaurant, they're almost always obnoxious and rude towards employees and other customers. Ditto in the workplace.

I've never seen this level of rudeness in whites or Asians or Hispanics.

I seen whites be rude in restaurants and stores, to. Also I have seen Whites and Hispanics take their time to cross the road, and back in my Sophomore year me and my Jamaican friend use to flip off a McDonalds for no reason on the bus. It wasn't because he was Jamaican and I was White, it was because we were a a sophomore and freshman looking for a good laugh. True, people who come from the ghetto areas are mean as **** and racist towards anyone who's not black, but those are ghetto people, I always avoid the ghetto as much as possible, and not every Black comes from the ghetto neighborhoods. Another thing my White Stoner friends always jaywalk.

Well, my experience has been radically different.

Racism harms everyone when the racist expresses that racism, which is inevitable and unavoidable. For instance, the racist whose irrational bigotry is toward African Americans will refuse to hire or promote qualified and deserving African Americans. The racist will find fault with a Black person simply because of the person’s race (as we see on this thread), and conversely overlook the wrongdoing and condemnable qualities of people of his own race.

Geez, get real.

I'm racist. It's not something I choose to be. When I see a black person in public, I do my best to avoid them. Of course it's not fair, but why should I care? My dislike of black people hurts nobody.

Because 'fear of the OTHER' is what causes the vast majority of violence and wars in this world. It's irrational fear and hate like yours that is the root cause of most of the ills in society.

Well, that judgment doesn't describe me at all.

You've already demonstrated your irrational animus toward African Americans on this thread, e.g., your nonsense claim that "Blacks are so much more rude than any other group in the US."

How is this irrational? If 9 out of 10 blacks are rude, how I'm I being irrational by avoiding them?

I'll tell you that I've heard more blacks make fun of my Asian ethnicity than any other race--by far. For every white who makes a racist comment, about five black guys will.

And, of course, blacks can use their black privilege to say any damn racist thing in public and nobody will dare stand up to them.

Just read the whole thread , think you need to try be more understanding of American culture .
Yes avoid for your own safety
Black Americans where taken against there will to the US one of the last places of industrial slavery , these kids have ancestors that where exploited not so long ago in real terms . I think is rightfully so an element of resentment in African culture especially in USA .
From slavery into the ghetto's , trying to put myself into one of those kids boots , must feel the whole world against you .
Native Americans get a bad deal also
America a young nation , is struggling to find true integration and culture of its peoples .
