Dan.

One of the first names conceived by the Israelite culture and the Hebrew Bible. the name of the Biblical chief founder of the tribe of Dan whch dwelt on the Northern part of the land of Israel, and which later relocated to the area in Israel in which I was born in.

Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. the blessing of Jacob to his son Dan, on his deathbed.

A Daniel eh?

Hello Daniel I am called Shimon (or Ximun in Basque apparently) and I am your worst nightmare.

The hebrew meaning is a bit tame...God is listening or Listener...great.

Hehe

No. Dan and Daniel are two completely different Biblical men. Dan lived during the times of the last of the Hebrew patriarchs, Jacob, his father, and witnessed his death. Daniel was a man of the Jewish nobility carried off to Babylon and the Babylonian court, in order to serve as adviser to the King for the fierce intellect and intellectual potential the Babylonian scholars saw in him. where the Babylonian royals and royal advisers called him 'Bel protect the king' or in Babylonian, Belteshazzar. Daniel also provided us with the prophetic book under the title of his name, in the Hebrew Scriptures.
The meaning of the two names is slightly different in Hebrew.
