WHEN CHANGED Saturday to Sunday?

When is changed from Saturday to Sunday?

El Genesis that God created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh, blessing and sanctifying that day (Genesis 2:2-3).

From the beginning, the day God set apart for himself was Saturday, and later was recalled to the Jews through Moses, the table of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:8-12).

But what was changed when the initial Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday ? Why did this change? Do you see Sunday in the Bible ? These questions are answered in the following article. the Bible Sabbath

The Bible clearly records that God blessed and sanctified the Sabbath, the seventh day as the special day. Not on Sunday, first day of the week.
The only two things that God sanctified the principle of creation were the Marriage and Saturday. That is why the Sabbath was so important in the Old Testament.

The Bible records how important it was to God that man aside this day:

" Remember the Sabbath day to santificarlo.Seis labor and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God (...) For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it . " Exodus 20:8-11

"If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my day holy , and call delight, holy , glorious Lord, and honor him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words, then you will delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. " Isaiah 58:13-14

Because today, for most Christians, the Sabbath is considered a day of the week and Sunday is the day that has replaced it, it should ask ourselves: When exactly was changed the Sabbath to Sunday and why this change occurred ?

THE SABBATH OF THE EARLY CHRISTIANS

Many Christians today have little knowledge of how it was that on Sunday, first day of the week, came to replace the Sabbath, the seventh day as a day of worship for Christians. One thing is clear: who has made a change. Evidence of this is that most Christians keep Sunday!.

Is it changed from Saturday to Sunday when Jesus died?
"And they returned and prepared spices and ointments and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment." Luke 23:56

Apparently they had no instruction part of Jesus, of any changes that should make, as to not keep the Sabbath after his death. We must bear in mind also that this story of Luke, was not written in that day, but decades later. It would be very strange that Lucas had not made any mention of the change by Christians, Sunday through Saturday, on the occasion of this narrative. It is noteworthy that it is silent on this issue.

Did the early Christians worshiped on Sunday?
"Therefore I judge that should not trouble those Gentiles who are turning to God, but to write them to abstain from pollutions of idols, from fornication, from things strangled and from blood. For Moses from ancient generations has in every city them that preach in the synagogues, being read every Sabbath. " Acts 15:1, 2, 6-21.

The point that there were no conflict between the churches of early Christians and Jews as to what day they should meet, gives us strong evidence that such a change did not happen. However, reading that chapter of Acts, we see that there is much controversy regarding circumcision. A change was required by God in this matter, and it was natural that many preguntasen when they did not understand the reason for the change.

The issue of a change for a different Sabbath, not even appear on the agenda items discussed at the first Christian council, which took place 18 years after the death of Christ.

CHANGE THE BIBLE TO SATURDAY SUNDAY

In fact, we find no evidence in the teachings of Jesus, or the practice of New Testament church, tell us some consideration for the Sunday or the day of resurrection, as the new day of worship for Christians .

For this reason, any information that we seek to find the change that was made, it must be sought elsewhere and not in the Bible .
And the only place I can find is in the span of time since the New Testament writings to this day. And we have to look far to find the answer. The annals of history clearly tells us that Sunday became popular day of worship, supplanting the Saturday.

Four factors stand out in the fact the substitution of Sunday for Saturday:
This took place gradually during the time of the second and the fourth century AD
It started in the Christian churches of Rome, gradually spreading all others.
The church leaders were supported by the Roman Emperor Constantine, who declared Sunday as the Sabbath, and was a civil crime for those who were not willing to change, to worship on Sunday.
The church leaders did not change for a reason this incident , or rebellion against God, but without understanding the nature of the authority that Jesus had given them.

DATING ON THE CHANGE OF THE SABBATH TO SUNDAY

Catechismus Concilii Tridentini, Pars III, Ch. IV, 25. Ed Paris, Page 467
" It pleased the church of God to change the worship and celebration of the Sabbath to Sunday Day . "

Code of Justinian, Lib. 3, Title 12, Para. 2:
The law given by Constantine the March 7 year 321 AD on the day of rest, was as follows: " Rest all judges, the mob of cities, and the offices of all the arts the venerable day of the sun. But free and legally work in the agricultural tasks as set out in the fields, as often happens, than any other day scatters seed to the furrows and planted vines in the pits more conveniently, so that on the occasion of the moment do not miss the benefits provided by the heavenly providence . "

Rev. Charles Hefele, History of the Councils of the Church, Vol II, p. 316:
364 AD Council of Laodicea: " Christians must not Judaize and be idle on Saturday (the Sabbath original), but must work on that day. Must honor in a special way the Lord's day. As Christians, as far as their power, should not work on that day. However, if they are found Judaizing, they were separated from Christ . " Rev. Charles Hefele, History of the Councils of the Church, Vol II, p. 316.

Appointment of Archbishop Eusebius (fourth century AD):
The Catholic Archbishop Eusebius, writing in 330 AD stated, " All things were permissible to take on the Sabbath day we have transferred to the Lord's Day . " Commentary on Psalm 91, published in Migne, Patrologia Graeca, Volume 23, Col. 1171

Peter Geiermann, The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1957 ed) p. 50:
Question: What day is the Sabbath?
Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath?
Question Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
Answer " We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday . "

Editorial, The Catholic Mirror (Baltimore), September 23, 1893:
" The Catholic Church for over a thousand years before there were Protestants, by virtue of his divine commission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday ... the Christian Sabbath is to this day recognized as a son of the Catholic Church as spouse of the Holy Ghost , without a word of protest from the Protestant world . " Editorial, The Catholic Mirror (Baltimore), September 23, 1893.

The Question Box The Catholic Universe Bulletin, August 14, 1942. p. 4:
" The Church changed the Sabbath to Sunday by making use of the divine, infallible authority which was granted by its founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant, saying that the Bible is the only guide of faith, has no authorization for the observance of Sunday. In this matter the Seventh-day Adventists are the only consistent Protestant . "

Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of Our Fathers, (92nd. ed., Rev.), P. 89.
" You can read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday . "

The function of sanctifying the church "Chapter III section 1247 (Cann. 1244 - 1253)
" 1247 On Sundays and other holy days of obligation the faithful are bound to attend Mass, and also to abstain from those works and activities that hinder the worship of God, enjoy the joy proper to the day of the Lord, or the due relaxation of mind and body . "

ADMISSIONS SINCERE
Catholic:
"You can read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday" (The Faith of Our Fathers, by James Cardinal Gibbons, p.111).

"... The Bible tells how God ordered to keep it on the seventh day as a memorial of creation. He tells us how the command was repeated at Sinai. Tells us how the Son of God kept the Sabbath. Nowhere says that Christians should keep a different day of the Jews, His chosen people "(The Catholic Bulletin, February 7, 1954).

"There is a place in the New Testament where Christ is recorded distinctly changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday. Still, all Protestants, except the Seventh-day Adventists observe the Sunday ... The Protestant continue the tradition by keeping Sunday "(Our Sunday Visitor, June 11, 1950).

Baptists :
"There is nothing in Scripture that we ask that we keep Sunday instead of Saturday as a holy day" ("Consider the case for Saturday alone," by Harold Lindsell, editor, Christianity Today, November 5, 1976).

"There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath, but that Sabbath day was not Sunday. Either way, be said with an air of triumph, that the Sabbath was changed from the seventh to the first day of the week ... Where can I find a record of such a change? Not in the New Testament, absolutely not. "(Dr. Edward T. Hiscox, author of The Baptist Manual, in a paper read before the Conference of Ministers of New York, held on November 13, 1893).

The Christian Church (Christian Church):
"There is no direct authority of the Bible to call the first day of the week" day of the Lord "(Dr. DH Lucas, Christian Oracle, 1890).

Congregationalist:
"The Christian Sabbath (Sunday) is not in Scripture, and it was called the Sabbath by the early church" (Dwight's Theology, Vol 4, p. 401).

Episcopal :
"The Bible commandment says the seventh day you shall rest. That is Saturday. Nowhere in the Bible is based on is made on a Sunday "(Phillip Carrington, Toronto Daily Star, October 26, 1949).

Methodist :
"The reason we observe the first day instead of the seventh is not based on any command. One will search the Scriptures in vain trying to find the change from the seventh to the first day "(Clovis C. Chappel, Ten rules to live by, p. 61).

Presbyterian :
"The Sabbath is part of ... the Ten Commandments. Only this clears the doubt about whether the institution is perpetual. So ... it can be shown that the whole moral law has been repealed, the Sabbath will remain ... The teaching of Christ confirms the perpetuity of the Sabbath "(TC Blake, Theology Condensed, p. 474, 475).

Miscellaneous :
"The English speaking people have been most persistent in perpetuating the erroneous assumption that the fourth commandment switched to Sunday ... We talk frequently, and wrongly, on Sunday as a day of rest" (FM Setzler, chief, department of anthropology , Smithosian Institute, letter, September 1, 1949).

CONCLUSION

There is no evidence in the Bible that Jesus changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. Even the early Christians had problems with this, because Saturday was the Sabbath day to about 350 AD

At this time, the Catholic Church, born in the heart of Rome, with the support of Emperor Constantine, used his authority to change the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday without any Biblical justification, taking as criminals all who refused to worship in Sunday.

Nice work !

Now determine by your posting how many days and nights he spent in the grave.

Does he not say that the son of man will be in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights ? >>
Mat 12:40
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
