meh...
What bothers me even more is when the LDS posters get snippy in return.

BTW - I've been guilty of that myself plenty of times.

In all seriousness - many times they probably don't realize they are in a DIR forum. I surf this site pretty much exclusively using the "Active Topic" functionality, and half the time I have no idea what part of the forum the thread that I am replying to is located in.

True on counts one and two. However, there is the occasional non-LDS that gets in a post in hopes of "sneaking it by". I have been the snippy LDS person too, but at least I keep to my own DIR forum when addressing my LDS colleagues;)

I know I'm new around here, but I thought that a DIR forum meant anyone could post so long as they didn't debate. If that's the case, then there's nothing wrong with a non-LDS person posting in the LDS DIR forum so long as they don't debate, contradict, etc.

Am I wrong?

Nope. You're right! Wait, does that count as debating?

nope.
You merely scratched the surface.
I refer to these forums as the sanctuaries.
This is because a non member is not even allowed to defend themselves against blatant out right lies said about them.
I know this for a fact from first hand experience.

I wouldn't have anything cynical or anything debate worthy to say about the LDS church. I am a former active member. So, if I see something I wanna say something about I just go ahead and join in. lol. No one has seemed to mind so far.

I come here very rarely, but I like to pop in every now and then to see what sort of things are being discussed. I was born and raised in the church and I still enjoy having friendly discussions with members every now and then.

You are certainly more than welcome, Solider.
