Where Are You?

Describe where you are the best you can(without giving away your actual location, of course).

I'm on the darkened first floor of an old four square style house. Its cloudy outside, and the curtains are drawn on the windows that have them. The room is littered with toys and shoes, and a cat comes through once and awhile. The hum of fish tanks and water splash from them sound in the background. There's a pane of glass that's gone on the picture window on the front wall of the house, making a cold draft(its not entirely exposed to the porch, just one layer is gone, but still noticeable).

I'm sat at a desk in a small bedroom in a bungalow that is on top of a great big hill

Somewhere in the North of England

To my left is a shelf full of DVDs and to my right a lamp

In front of me is a computer and some shelves and behind me there is a bed

Above me there is a light and below me a light brown carpet

Very good description!

I thought about mentioning my rug, but that thing oughta go in the dumpster... In this house, rugs are temporary. I can't stand the echo the place has without them, though.

Having just put Sunday dinner in the oven i am having a little sit down on the couch and a play with RF. Hence the reason i am writing this and incidentally stroking a ***** (if that doesn't get past the nanny bot i am talking about a cat.

I am in an old, stone built house at this very moment i am listening to the roar of a motorbike club passing outside.

Outside the sun is shining, for the first time in over a week. We have had plenty of rain which has done wonders for the 2 local rivers.

The bike club has passed. Peace again

We have a teen in the neighborhood that has a single moped who's sound rivals a bike group...

Sounds nice, what are you having?

Later today we are going to make an ale and mushroom casserole!

For the meat eaters its a meatloaf, roast and mashed spuds, just picked carrots, peas and sweetcorn with gravy.

For the veggie contingent it's the same but replace the meatloaf with a spinach, mushroom and pine nut pastie.

Desert is homemade muffins that are left over from yesterdays meal with friends

Thanks, I've not made a pie with ale for a long time, sounds like a plan for next week

Its so nice you continue to prepare food for the vegetarian in the family.

I was kicked out of 'dinner' upon going vegetarian at 12. (Probably fortunate, though; I was the only 'kid' to avoid obesity.)

I'm sitting at my desk, which doubles as my shrine, in my studio apartment (my personal ashram) that's the last one in the far back of the complex. It's silent except for the occasional truck that Jake-brakes on the freeway that's about a mile away.

I look outside my only window, which has a southern exposure, through the open blinds. It's cloudy and chill, with light rain outside, and about half the leaves have now fallen from the trees, revealing the foothill that lies about a quarter mile away.

Between me and the foothill lies a creek that flows into a river that will, as it continues south, connect with two others.

I have no rugs or carpets. I don't like them. Though rugs are better than carpet. If you ever spent time as a carpet installer, you'd know why.
