I grew up in a hamlet of just over 300 people. I now live in a slightly larger area of just over 800. I abhor cities. I like to be as much in the countryside as possible, natural and healthy and green. Not surrounded by consumerism, materialistic folk, babbling, fights, sirens, stress, etc.

My reason for disliking large cities is that they are so... lifeless and monotone. People only go about doing their business and you cant chat without having an appointment as people have faces like they want to avoid you anytime you go by. Or as if they are so busy as to not have the time to think of something to say.

Hmmm.... Depends on the city. I'd suggest going to somewhere like Seattle or New Orleans. Those cities certainly are far from lifeless. XD

My country is different, i guess. Germans prefer the indoors, instead of outdoors, for social exchange.

I grew up in the heart of London and I've spent 85% of my life here. These days I'm 6 miles out, in Chiswick (see us in Wikipedia). Shops, cultural amenities, beautiful architecture, public transport: I've got the lot. I've also got nature: tree-lined streets; the river, full of fish and birds; the parks, full of birds and squirrels; the occasional urban fox.

Hebrews 13:14New Living Translation (NLT)
14 For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

1 Peter 2:11-12The Message (MSG)
11-12 Friends, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives.
