WHERE IS THE SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS GOD'S 4th COMMANDMENT IS ABOLISHED?

The Hebrew scriptures were finished writing several hundred years before Jesus was born. The law for the Sabbath(which were several Sabbaths- not just a weekly one) was directed to the Israelites- who agreed to carry it out. Christians were never under such an agreement. Christians are taught " By means of his (Jesus') flesh he abolished the enmity, the Law of commandments consisting in decrees, in order to make the two groups in union with himself into one new man and to make peace..."- Ephesians 2:15

Also, there is nothing in the Christian Greek scriptures indicating any day of the weak is to be set aside. The only celebration or special day mentioned "Christ's remembrance" which replaced the Passover, as the Passover was about the Christ- the Passover lamb.
Hey nice to meet you @seekandfind and welcome to the thread. Yes I agree there is many different shadow sabbaths in the old testament. However, the purpose of these were different to God's creation Sabbath of the 4th commandment. There was no Jew or Israel when God made the creation Sabbath for all mankind (see Genesis 2:1-3 and Mark 2:27-28). After the fall of mankind in Genesis 3 there were two groups of people emerging over the generations. These included those who 1. Believed and following Gods Word and 2. Those who did not believe and follow Gods Word or did not know God. The point here is that Gods Word is for Gods people. According to the scriptures in the new covenant purpose of Gods 10 commandments is to give us the knowledge of GOOD (moral right doing when obeyed) and EVIL (moral wrong doing when disobeyed); SIN (moral wrong doing with disobeyed) and RIGHTEOUSNESS (moral right doing when obeyed) *see Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4 and Psalms 119:172.

Everyone of Gods 10 commandments are repeated in the new covenant as the standard of good and evil; sin and righteousness. So to claim there is no more 4th commandment is simply a false teaching and something that is not taught anywhere Gods old or new testament scriptures. Christians therefore according to the scriptures are all those who believe and obey Gods Word not believe and disobey Gods Word. James in James 2:13-26 says the later class has the dead faith of devils and in James 2:10-11 says if we break anyone of Gods 10 commandments is the same as breaking all of them. Lets be honest. You cannot find me a single scripture in all the bible that says Gods 4th commandment has now been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest now can you? This is simply a man-made teaching and tradition that has led many away from God and His Word to break the commandments of God against the very warnings of Jesus in Matthew 15:3-9.

Take Care.

So I guess after 50 pages not a single scripture that says Gods 4th commandment of the 10 commandments which gives us a knowledge of what sin is when broken has been abolished and we are now to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest in honor of the resurrection of Jesus? Sunday worship therefore is a man-made teaching and tradition that has led many away from God and His Word to break the commandments of God against the very warnings of Jesus in Matthew 15:3-9. It seems the mainstream Christianity has departed God and His Word and made its own religion.

Who was this commandment given to? Israel. Not the nations.

Why is this commandment given? To remember the Exodus. Deuteronomy 5:15 "Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day." Since the ancestors of non-Jews were not delivered from Egypt, it makes no sense for them to keep the Sabbath.

Hey guys

Just wondering where is the scripture that says Gods 4th commandment seventh day Sabbath has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest in honor of the resurrection of Jesus?

May God bless you as you seek to know Him through His Word.
" resurrection of Jesus "

Jesus/Yeshua- the truthful Israelite Messiah rising (resurrecting) from the physical dead is against Sign of Jonah, therefore, the Yeshua's resurrection did not and could not happen, as I understand?
Right?

According to the scriptures there was no Israel and no Jew when God made the Sabbath to all mankind (see Genesis 2:1-3 and Mark 2:27). The name Israel is only a name given by God to all those who believe and follow Gods Words. According to the new covenant scriptures that you deny, that brought in Gods promised Messiah, Gods Israel are no longer those who are born of the flesh but are now all those who have been born of the Spirit into Gods new covenant promise through faith. (see Romans 9:6-8; Romans 2:28-29; Galatians 3:28-29 and Romans 11:13-26). Look at your argument and think it through. Are you really going to try and argue all of Gods 10 commandments are only for the physical nation of Israel and all the world is free to break them and sin? Deuteronomy 5:15 does not teach that those who believe Gods Word are not to obey it. If as the scriptures teach Gods Israel are now all those who believe and obey Gods Word then all of Gods Words are to be believed and obeyed and everyone of Gods 10 commandments are repeated in the new testament scriptures as the standard of good when obeyed and evil when disobeyed; sin when disobeyed and righteousness when obeyed (see Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4 and Psalms 119:172.

There is no command to rest on the sabbath in Genesis 2. No commandment to keep the sabbath was EVER given to anyone except the People of Israel. The people of Israel are the descendants of Jacob. Not Christians.

According to the scripture Genesis 2:1-3 says 1, ¶ Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2, And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3, And God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Who did God bless the Sabbath day for and make it holy?

According to Jesus in Mark 2:27 the Sabbath was made for mankind. Adam and Eve were created on the 6th day of the creation week according to Genesis 1:26-31. See also Genesis 26:5 5, Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Yeap. Absolutely nothing in that verse requiring anyone to rest on the sabbath.

Yes that is true if you do not believe Gods Word and ignore all the scriptures and questions asked of you in the post you were quoting from that are in disagreement with you (see Isaiah 6:9-10). Ignoring Gods Word does not make it disappear. It becomes our judge come judgement day according to John 12:47-48.

It has zero to do what what I or you or anyone else believes. Genesis 2:1-3 literally says NOTHING about anyone being required to rest on the Sabbath. It just isn't there.

Well that is not true at all. Please forgive me but I do not believe you. I prefer the scriptures that have been shared with you that are in disagreement with you. Genesis 2:1-3 is the making of the Sabbath. Genesis 2:1-3 is where the Sabbath came from that God blessed and made a holy day of rest for all mankind (Mark 2:27). They are Gods Words not mine. What you believe is between you and God. So your argument is with God not me. Trying to make an argument that no one kept Gods laws before Exodus 20 is simply an argument founded in lies as already demonstrated in the scrioptures in Genesis 26:5 and the very words of Jesus in Mark 2:27 where he says that the Sabbath was made for mankind not the Jews. God did not bless the seventh day Sabbath and make it a holy day of rest for himself. The Sabbath day is a memorial of creation and a celebration of God as our creator of heaven and earth being made for all mankind (Mark 2:27) including Adam and Eve created on the 6th day according to Genesis 1:26-31 before the fall *Genesis 3:1-5,

Making the sabbath is NOT the same thing as requiring it rest on it. In Genesis 2:1-3, there is NO COMMANDMENT to rest.

Trying to pretend that Gods 10 commandments did not exist prior to Exodus 20 is Not what the bible teaches (e.g. Genesis 26:5; Exodus 16). Before the written recorded words of God given at Mt Sinai there was the spoken Word of God. As posted earlier, Genesis 2:1-3 is the making of the Sabbath. Genesis 2:1-3 is where the Sabbath came from that God blessed and made a holy day of rest for all mankind (Mark 2:27). They are Gods Words not mine. What you believe is between you and God. I showed you that you were mistaken. Since you did not directly reply about Gen 2:1-3, I will assume that you had no answer to my point.

The 10 commandments were given at Saini, not the Garden of Eden.

Well that is not true at all. I showed you that you were mistaken by providing scripture in disagreement with you and that Gods laws were practiced by Gods people well before Mt Sinai. Your response was to simply ignore what was posted to you pretending it does not exist and not responding to the scriptures that are in disagreement with you proving that Gods law was already given to Gods people pre-Sinai and Exodus 20. You were directly answered in regards to Genesis 2:1-3. Trying to pretend that Gods 10 commandments did not exist prior to Exodus 20 is Not what the bible teaches (e.g. Genesis 26:5; Exodus 16). Genesis 26:5 5, Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. I suggest you read your bible more. Before the written recorded word of God there was the spoken Words of God. When the scriptures teach that the Sabbath was made for all mankind in Mark 2:27. You are assuming this did not include Adam and Eve and Gods people after the fall.

What makes you think that the commandments referred to are the 10 commandments? You are reading INTO the verse.

No I am not reading into the verse at all. You are ignoring what the verse says. Look up the Hebrew for laws in Genesis 26:5. If you are genuinely interested and would like more scripture showing that Gods people understood the 10 commandments and what sin was and the laws of atonement of sin before Mt Sinai let me know.

No having a habit of making pronouncements that you cannot prove is what you do. You are projecting as demonstrated in your unwillingness to address my post and scripture content that is in disagreement with you again. Lets talk more when you can prove what you say.

You are the one making the claim that Gen 2;2-3 includes a command to rest on the Sabbath. All I need to prove my point is to post those verses so that everyone can see that they include NO COMMAND. This is a no brainer.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

See, no command present. Case over.
