Where to start?

Well I emailed someone the other day about mandir visits, and they replied back saying that there will be people visiting on Wednesday the 28th, so maybe I'll go.

I just don't know how I'll get there (or if I can convince the other half to come at least accompany me to the entrance). ~_~ But so far to be honest I haven't done much except to listen to the Bhagavad Gita before sleeping (and falling asleep to it - I believe in subconscious mind remembering).

I was too busy with work but that changed now... So I'll be able to look things up more.

Let me or all members know the address of the UK Shree Krishna Mandir and I tell you pretty much what to expect.

If this is a "Hare Krishna" temple (ISKCON) you don't have to worry about being accepted, you will be VERY welcomed.

I don't know if I can have the courage to go yet... And it doesn't seem to be Hare Krishna (which I previously thought it was) so that's good - since I'd prefer not to practice that.

Take your time, don't do anything you are not comfortable doing yet.

Okay, I've finally decided that I'll try Sanatana Dharma, Vaishnavaite path for a bit, because I seem drawn to Krishna particularly.

I've only read the Bhagavad Gita, know a little about beliefs but don't know much about practice. I don't really know where to go from here... Does anyone have advice?

Thank you!

I believe that worship to the God should be done with true deep love, unbreakable faith, and infinite devotion. Bhagvad Gita alone provides a lot of divine knowledge. There are many Hinduism sacred texts also available that you can refer if you want to know more about Hinduism.

Many people have given nice suggestions. You can start worshiping by visiting nearest Radha-Krishna temple and bringing home a photo of Radha-Krishna.

Truly there is in this world nothing so purifying as knowledge.- (Bhagvad Gita [4.38])

The mandir is doing something today. I've been welcomed to go too but the problem isn't being nervous about being there... It's getting there! I don't drive and it's not walking distance and going out on my own makes me anxious. I'd love to be there!

And family help you? If not, do you have money for a cab?

My family is in Canada, I live in the UK and I could take a bus there... But I suppose I'm still a bit phobic about going out alone.

It's really a dilemma, because I really want to go but too anxious about stepping outside. I stress about stupid things like getting lost or taking the wrong bus... I'm hopeless! :cover:
