Where were you 20 years ago?

I was 21 years old and a patient at the Coventry psychiatric hospital

I would sit in the smoking room smoking Mayfair Smooths (a brand of cigarette and in my opinion the best brand of cigarette) whilst listening for messages on the radio to try and figure out what was happening to me

Mad times but those are the foundations that the current me is based on, that was my formative period

I was living on a commune in San Luis obispo California, making money by collecting aluminum cans at night, and spending a big part of each day hanging out on the first internet forum that I was a member of, which I joined earlier that year.

It was a very good year.
That sounds nice

Reluctantly giving up my fun, freelancing 20s to commit to a full time job.

I guess job wise, I was a night shift person at a group home.

I cleaned an already mostly clean house, and changed adult diapers. I was the only person on the shift.

It was dreadfully dull, and sometimes gross. I could watch TV, read, use the phone, whatever. Falling asleep meant you were instantly fired, if you were caught. Basically, you just did whatever you had to to not fall asleep.

20 years ago my marriage was only a few years old, and it was the BC era. Before Children.

I was working in my chosen career, and my wife was finishing her own training work.
