I'm with Riven, I've never heard of them either, but then again, I'm not into Power Metal. Now, if you wanted opinions on some old school punk albums to buy, I'm your girl, lol.

lol, I'm not much into punk, though I was at one point. Power metal is the way to go, for me, besides classical.

For a sample of any artist, just type the name of the artist or band into www.alltheweb.com as an audio search. That's where I found out which bands I like.

I'm the only one who voted, but I'd go with iced earth if you're only going to buy one of those 2. I don't know Kamelot too well, so I disgarded it, but manowar is also awesome. Again, I'd start with Iced Earth, I love the medieval feel melodies, if you get what I'm saying...

For one, you NEED to get Demons & Wizards. It's incredible. I can't wait to get Touched by the Crimson King when it comes out. I also chose Black Halo, even though Days of Purgatory is also very good.

Nice taste in music.

Nice, I was leaning towards Demons & Wizards. I'll get that one. Black Halo, I heard, was incredible, but it was also said that Days of Purgatory was good too. Oddly, I've never heard Iced Earth before. Touched by the Crimson King looked very good on Amazon.ca's website. Thanks for the replies!

Same to you! A Blind Guardian fan, eh? What's your favourite song? I like "The Wizard's Apprentice", "The Power Behind the Throne" and a few others. Did you like them as speed metal or power metal more?

I'm not quite sure what my favorite is, but I a lot of the stuff on "A Night at the Opera", especially "And Then There Was Silence". I think they were best when they sort of tread a middle ground like in "Imaginations from the Other Side."

Now that I think about it, I really like the beginning of "Majesty."

I do advise you to check out Iced Earth. Good stuff. I'd say Demons & Wizards sounds pretty much like Iced Earth but with Hansi.

For an indepth description of these bands, as well as many other metal bands, check out www.bnrmetal.com. He has a top ten for each year as well so you can see if he thinks any of the ones you mentioned are worth getting.

Personally, I prefer latest version of European power metal that is making the rounds at the moment. Bands like Children of Bodom, Sinergy, Primal Fear, Gamma Ray and Nightwish all of which I would strongly reccomend (I can reccomend some albums too if you like).

However, I have heard good things about Demons and Wizards although I haven't heard it myself.
