I suspect the asexual or androgynous evolved first. Like many plants, having both sexes, maybe the early eukaryotes did too.Which evolved first? The Male or the Female and before this how did creatures reproduce?
There was no "first" organism that simply started mating. There was a transition to what we call mating. For example tree's reproduce sexually but they don't have sexual organs and don't mate. Bacteria "mate" in the sense that they bump into each other and swap some of their DNA before they replicate. However the replication process itself is asexual and is done regularly with no real ties to the "mating" that it does.Which was the first organism that evolved to reproduce by mating.

"Raëlism claims that all life on Earth, humans included, was created scientifically by Elohim, members of an extraterrestrial race who appeared similar to small humans and so were often depicted as angels,[11]p. 308–14 cherubs,[11]p. 49–50 or gods.[11]p. 153–6" Raëlism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaDid life started by mating ?
How there is no first, was it eternal ?
Even if transition then when and how it started ?
For example there is a start for the wise human "homo sapiens" which Differentiate us from the unwise animals.
There is no "first" because there was a slow transition. There were stages and steps that could not be considered to have been sexual reproduction but might have been almost sexual reproduction. The need to have a "first" or "eternal" is a wrong mindset to be in. Incremental changes with no visible change within a whole lifetime or even a hundred lifetimes is how slowly the process works.Did life started by mating ?
