Which humans (or gods) should I worship?

I am going to be religious again I think. I intend on building shrines dedicated to the dead. The first shrine I will build will be dedicated to my mother. It is more than for symbolism; it is so I can seek her.

Once upon a time, I was intent on making shrines to the great conquerers of history and seeking an alliance/guidance. But, my ambitions have changed greatly. Now, I just seek peace and love in life. A release from hatred and anger.

Which humans from the past have exemplified love? My mom comes to my mind. All of my life, I have been told stories by many passing strangers what a loving person my mother was. I can still feel her love for me. It did not die with her.

Buddha also comes to mind. I really resonated with the Dhammapada.

Who else is there that was a champion of peace and love? Not just religious figures, but just anybody. Preferably dead though lol.

I have always been enamored with and studied the great military generals of history. Never cared much about the peace bringers. What can you tell me about those who brought peace?

adding gods to the equation.

I am more comfortable building shrines to dead humans because I am sure of the fact they once existed and indeed died. I am more hesitant to build a shrine to a god, who I can’t help but suspect is fictitious. But, I am willing to seek and be open minded. Which gods is there that is a god of peace?

My vote would be for Fred Hollows. He gave sight to thousands of blind people in 3rd world countries.

Gods of Peace include:

"Pax
The Roman goddess of peace, who was modeled after the Greek goddess Eirene. Pax was the daughter of Jupiter, the king of the gods, and Justice. She was often depicted carrying an olive branch, a cornucopia, or a scepter. Pax was associated with spring and rebirth.

Eirene
The Greek goddess of peace, who was also known as Peace. She was often depicted carrying a torch, a cornucopia, or a scepter. Eirene was the daughter of Zeus and Themis.

Freyr
The Norse god of peace, fertility, rain, and sunshine. He was the son of Njord, the sea god. Freyr was associated with Sweden and was considered an ancestor of the Swedish royal house.

Harmonia
The Greek goddess of harmony and concord. Her Roman counterpart was Concordia."

It was easier to copy paste this from Google, but I also highlighted the deity I honor in the name of peace.

Edit: There is also The Dagda, Celtic God of Wisdom, Kindness and Compassion. And in Lithuanian myth, Praamžius is the god of peace, sky, and friendship.

I remember you being an ex-Christian who's tried being irreligious, but now feel some inner desire to be religious again - this time I asume at something new, different, and interesting. You can dismiss my Christian perspective, but since you asked for a god of peace and love option, I feel compelled to offer up the obvious example.

I'm not aware of any other religion's god that compares to the god of Christianity - a being that manifested himself into his creation and willingly gave up his life to save them. True or not, that would be the most loving god around, and by the way, far exceeding what any human has ever done.

Of course I believe Jesus' crucifixion on the cross is historially true, which makes the Bible's God story even more amazing. Why would a person want to dedicate his life's time and attention to a mere human or known false god that offers no possible permanency beyond this mortal life? At least worshipping Jesus offers one a good chance at everlasting hope, peace, and love. It also just happens to be the best avenue to pursue your concern for others since loving people is the secondary foundation of Christianity.
