a) A silent prayer?

b) A public prayer?

c) A public prayer and an offering of incense?

d) A public prayer, an offering of incense, and a 21 cannon salute?

e) A public prayer, an offering of incense, a 21 cannon salute, and a public parade?

f) Other?

See Pad there is a problem. How on earth can one test this? There is never ever any feedback. I would imagine the 21 cannon thing (and why 21? ) would be very impractical on most occasions. But really no feedback =not testable.

It's all a matter of personal opinion and perspective....personally i think it really doesn't matter

JS is it if personal prepective and it truely doesnt' matter to God isnt' that an indication of apathy or non-communication?

The fact that there is no feedback and no prespective shown from the receiving party prompts me to wonder if apathy is not somewhere in the emotional acceptance of the monologue. The fact that it is not possible to be a dialogue but only a monologue time after time raises concern.

Imagine if you had any friend with immense power...say a politician and you would pitch ideas to him after calling him on the phone. The phone would pick up but he would never say hello or make any verbal acknowledgement of what you are saying. As a matter of fact since you can't see him you are not even sure if he is on the other end but somebody has picked-up the phone. At the end of each coversation you are always the first to hang up and sometimes your wishes get done and sometimes not...year after year call after call..no feedback......On the very basic level isn't that odd?

Hmm interesting perspective robtex.....
Ok so lets say this polician friend of mine that i never see and doesn't say anything to me nor hangs up the phone before me....
But if some of your wishes are granted...things you have suggested personally...especially a suggestion which was very personal in nature...couldn't that be seen as feedback?
When i was a kid i used to ask my mother for things that i never got...things she brushed off because, in the long run, they would do me no good...that was no feedback in a sense...does that make her apathetic to my needs?
trust me sometimes i'm thankful for prayers that were not answered, looking back on it now in hindsight.
There have been things i've prayed for that have happened and things that i've prayed for that never happened.
I think this sums it up pretty well.... http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=73956#post73956
