While in Europe

Alright all you world travellers. I'm headed to Europe next Thursday with my 15 year old son. Neither of us have been. It's sort of a whistlestop tour with 3 days rougly in each city.
Does anyone have any thoughts about what we might want to add to our agenda's while we are in these cities.
In order
Paris
Berlin
Pargue
Amsterdam
London

Or perhaps you might like to share advice on what to avoid. Thanks everyone.

This isn't easy; London is busy busy; I feel quite 'lost' there; but that's just me.
Have a look at http://www.londoncitytourist.com/; I see the Science museum's address is listed, and there are two or three museums within easy walk (The Victoria & Albert Art museum is (or was) just opposite). I am sure your son would LOVE the science museum; I used to make up excuses to take my kids there as often as pssible :-http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/ Natural History Museum http://www.nhm.ac.uk/Victoria & Albert http://www.vam.ac.uk/nal/.

Paris;http://www.museums-of-paris.com/;http://www.mosaicodiffusion.com/index.php?lang=2(For a pass that you can buy in advance - last time my son went, he regretted not getting one of these !)The Louvre http://www.mosaicodiffusion.com/index.php?lang=2.

Hope that helps;Berlin and Amsterdam are but vague memories, and from a long time ago !I have never been to Prague.
Hope the above is of use to you.:)

It's of particular use as it's anecdotal. Thanks Michel. I got us a hotel in Picaddilly. I thought my son would like that area...seems cool. I'll check out the sites you listed.

Stop by for a dram or two! :)

Haha, I know that's like saying "Do you know Carol? She lives in England" Heheh

Prague has a lot of castles that you can tour, and in the city of prague there is a lot to do and see. I don't know if your son would like to take a tour of one of the castles but i would suggest it.

Oh maaaaaaan I would love to be you. Think if I pretended to be your son you would notice? *grin*

Amsterdam and Prague were both centers of the Northern Renaissance. Brush up on your Durer - he was a great engraver. Also Baroque art - Rubens in particular. He lived outside Amsterdam for a while, I think. So try checking out the art museums - they might have some truly amazing stuff. And TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!

Paris - Musee d'Osay (impressionists) Walk along the Seine. Eat on the West Bank. Walk the neighborhood in Montmarte - street artists galore and the Sacred-Heart basilica.
Berlin Walk around East Berlin and the Brandenburg Gate. Have a beer - any brand of German beer but sample the various types.
Pargue Buy crystal
Amsterdam Hehehe - 15 maybe too young for the district I'd send you (just to see!!!).
LondonSome of the cathedrals have "brass rubbing" - rubbing a metalic crayon over black paper on a brass plaque, The Tate Museum (Blake and Turner)

Ooohh---lucky you!! I have only been to one of the cities you listed, and that is London, and it was last year. I simply enjoyed seeing all the historic sites and buildings---such as Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, etc. But, since you have your son with you, one thing both of you would probably enjoy---it was highly recommended to me by a friend from London ( I unfortunately did not have time to do it myself! )---is take a ride on the huge sight-seeing wheel, which gives you breathtaking views of pretty much the whole city I believe. I can't remember what it is called ( Michel might know ), but it looks kind of like a giant ferris wheel, and it sits by the Thames River. If I get the chance to visit London again, I'm definitely checking it out.

By the way, if you ever go to Europe again, I highly, highly recommend visiting Scotland!:D

Right in Prague is the prague castle, it would probably be the easiest to go see and there are a lot of other interesting places to look at in the same area, i know a lot of people like to walk across charles bridge. http://www.aviewoncities.com/prague/praguecastle.html is a good site to go to it shows the major sites in prague.
now i like the castle krivolklat, its about 20 miles west of prague i don't know if you are only staying in prague but i figured i would mention it. a good site to go to for that castle is http://www.frommers.com/destination/prague/0063020750.html
