Mary wasn't married; she was betrothed. She was a virgin in order that Isaiah's prophecy may be fulfilled. She's been called Virgin for a very long time, since the infancy of Christianity. The idea, as I understand it, is that Mary never lost her maidenhood, and those mentioned as Jesus' brothers were actually cousins. That is the Orthodox and Roman Catholic view, not the Protestant one.

the catholic church came up with a doctrine which states that Mary is a 'perpetual virgin'

Im not sure why they did that, but it likely has something to do with their other doctrine which elevates Jesus to equality with God, neither of which are bible teachings.... Mary went on to have several children after Jesus (although most catholics dont know, or like to admit, that fact) according to the gospel accounts. So she obviously have sex with her husband and they produced offspring just like every other married couple.

"virgin" was not meant to be an everlasting title but a condition she was still in. By denying Jesus had 4 half-brothers and at least 2 half-sisters, the RCC tried to declare her immaculate, and the Mother of God. (Mark 6:3)

It is not a Biblical teaching.

When Matthew quoted Isaiah 7:14 he used the Greek word for virgin par-the'nos.
Isaiah used the Hebrew word 'al-mah' which can mean maiden and can be applied to both virgins and non-virgins. (see Genesis 24:16,43)
In Mary's case she was literally a virgin maiden until after Jesus' birth, then Joseph and Mary carried on as any married couple would do. (Mt 1:25)

I do stuff
The canonical Gospels were written by Jews, for Jews, using Jewish concepts. Therefore to understand them, they must be examined through a Jewish lens. They were never meant for Gentiles. The most Jewish of the four Gospels is the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew’s Gospel mentions at least 12 fulfillments of Jewish scripture attributed to Jesus. If the reader does not know Jewish scripture, these fulfillments would be meaningless. A prerequisite to the reading of the Gospels is the understanding of Jewish scripture. Jewish scripture must be the starting point.

Perhaps a Catholic may be able to answer that for you. But usually, when we tell one lie it inevitably leads to more.

not if you are a bible reading christian.... the gospel accounts tell us about Mary's other children whom she bore after Jesus birth. So there is no basis for calling her a virgin any more. She was only a virgin when God selected her to bring Jesus into the world. Jesus was originally a heavenly angel, the first of all the created angles. God transfered the life of that angle into the womb of Mary which is why Jesus has no earthly father and thats why Mary was a virgin. But after she birthed Jesus, she went on to have more children by her husband Joseph, therefore she was not a virgin all her life as the catholics imagine.

was the Bible called Mary (pbuh) or mention that she was virgin or it's just guess ? ,accautly it's would be weird if Bible never mentioned that Mary (pbuh) was virgin .

btw the Quran mention that Mary (pbuh) was virgin before the angel come to her. so we the Muslims believed that she was virgin before birth of Jesus (pbuh).

"All of this actually came about to fulfill what was spoken by Jehovah through his prophet, saying: 'Look! The virgin will become pregnant and will give birth to a son, and they will name him Imman'uel,' which means, when translated, "With Us Is God.'" - Matthew 1:22,23

"In [Elizabeth's] sixth month, the angel Ga'briel was sent from God to a city of Gal'ilee named Naz'areth, to a virgin promised in marriage (or "engaged.") to a man named Joseph of David's house, and the name of the virgin was Mary." - Luke 1:26,27

Yes, the bible does say that she was a virgin, and it even says that after she gave birth to Jesus, she and her husband had sex...so obviously she didnt remain a virgin all her life.

Matthew 1:18 But this is how the birth of Jesus Christ took place. During the time his mother Mary was promised in marriage to Joseph, she was found to be pregnant by holy spirit*+ before they were united. 19 However, because her husband Joseph was righteous and did not want to make her a public spectacle, he intended to divorce her secretly.+ 20 But after he had thought these things over, look! Jehovah’s* angel appeared to him in a dream, saying: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take your wife Mary home, for what has been conceived* in her is by holy spirit.+ 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus,*+ for he will save his people from their sins.”+ 22 All of this actually came about to fulfill what was spoken by Jehovah* through his prophet, saying:23 “Look! The virgin will become pregnant and will give birth to a son, and they will name him Im·man′u·el,”+ which means, when translated, “With Us Is God.”+
24 Then Joseph woke up from his sleep and did as the angel of Jehovah* had directed him, and he took his wife home. 25 But he did not have sexual relations with her until she gave birth to a son,+ and he named him Jesus.+

Luke 1:26 In her sixth month, the angel Ga′bri·el+ was sent from God to a city of Gal′i·lee named Naz′a·reth, 27 to a virgin+ promised in marriage* to a man named Joseph of David’s house, and the name of the virgin was Mary.+ 28 And coming in, the angel said to her: “Greetings, you highly favored one, Jehovah* is with you.” 29 But she was deeply disturbed at his words and tried to understand what kind of greeting this might be. 30 So the angel said to her: “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And look! you will become pregnant* and give birth to a son,+ and you are to name him Jesus.+ 32 This one will be great+and will be called Son of the Most High,+ and Jehovah* God will give him the throne of David his father,+ 33 and he will rule as King over the house of Jacob forever, and there will be no end to his Kingdom.”+
34 But Mary said to the angel: “How is this to be, since I am not having sexual relations with a man?+ 35 In answer the angel said to her: “Holy spirit will come upon you,+ and power of the Most High will overshadow you. And for that reason the one who is born will be called holy,+ God’s Son.
