I can't sleep so I decided to start a new thread where you can talk about whoever you think should be fought for to win in 2016 for U.S. president. Unlike my snobby other thread, you can say anyone and fight for them.

Plus, the day after each primary, I will report how much percentage of the remaining delegates in their party each candidate needs to win: (as of midnight 12:45 ET)
Bernie Sanders 60.14%
Hillary Clinton 39.86%
Donald Trump 52.43%
Ted Cruz 57.53%
Marco Rubio 68.41%
John Kasich 73.88%
Ben Carson 75.48%

(data from http://www.politico.com/2016-election/results/delegate-count-tracker)

All other candidates may be found at http://www.politics1.com/p2016.htm .

I back zoltanistvan.com because every vote for him shows that we have nothing against moving the human race forward. He will run three times

For the primaries I like Hillary Clinton or I may vote for Ted Cruz to defend against Donald Trump. Thank you.

I will, and have only so many hours ago, vote for Bernie.
To be honest, I don't have a personal subjective preference.
I'm going for the one with the most experience and who is most likely to stick to what they say, that happens to be Bernie.
If I were to describe him in one word it would be 'driven'.

Bernie needs 60%, Hillary just 39%... are you including superdelegates?

I hope Bernie gets it, but if not I think Hillery would make an excellent president.

There is not a republican on the list that does not absolutely terrify me.

Not even Ted Cruz the ballerina?

Ted Cruz may be the most terrifying of them all. Except for the fact that he is not going to win
Don't be so sure, he pulled off a surprising win in Maine last night, crushing Trump when Trump was polled to win big, and won 2 states out of 4 overall. If the others drop out and all the anti-Trump Republicans rally around him he could be the nominee. Still a long shot of course.

Why would Hillary make a good president? She seems like a bad choice too. The only one I have any respect for is Bernie.
I understand much of the criticism of Hillary, I think she is a career politician. But Hillary will not seek to outlaw or put more restrictions on abortion rights, Hillary will not try to restrict the rights of the LGBT community, she will not try to scapegoat Mexicans, she will not try to limit or restrict free press or free protest. (remember George Bush and the "free speech zones")

I think she will govern in much the same way as Obama, and even the way Bill did. And that is not so bad that it scares me. As I said I also prefer Bernie, largely because Hillary will not do anything about campaign finance. But neither will any of the republican (no, not even Trump).

Thanks, I didn't have enough nightmares. :coldsweat:

She's terrible in terms of foreign policy, she said she'd impose a no-fly zone over Syria and shoot down Russian planes, I am not looking forward to a Hillary presidency whatsoever.

I think those statements need to be put in context.

Trump said we should kill the families of terrorists. Cruz said we should carpet bomb Syria. This scares me.

Trump has gone back on that, said he won't do anything illegal. Cruz said he would carpet bomb without targeting civilian areas, so just useless rhetoric. :tearsofjoy:

Ted Cruz got more delegates tonight than Trump, and needs 57.53% of the remaining delegates to pull off a victory. The supreme court just protected abortion rights 7-1 (a case tried to make only 1 abortion clinic available in Louisiana), but with 3-5 new supreme court justices it might be different. LGBT is the law of the land, but again... Donald Trump has admitted that his immigration plan may not be fully fundable. That's good about free press and free protest but I can't stand it when someone draws Mohammed or makes fun of him, or Trump says about battering the bullets to use against ISIS with pig's blood. That should be counted like yelling fire in a theater... you write that to inflame Muslims and you know they will get angry and kill... how is that not like murder? Leave that to the military to decide. Trump changed his mind about taxes so now we lose 10 trillion over 10 years. Guess who gets taxed 25%? For one, all the rich.

Also, what should really be counted as yelling fire in a theater is an angry mob of law-breaking protesters. Not only does this speech count like yelling fire in a theater, they might even literally set fire to a theater.

Yes I am counting superdelegates that have been assigned. I know this because Hillary and Bernie both get delegates in every state.
I don't think you should, it's more helpful to discount superdelegates so we know who's actually won stuff. The superdelegates can change. If Bernie wins more actual state delegates than Hillary does, the superdelegates might respect the will of the people and switch over to Bernie, or have a voter rebellion on their hands which they will want to avoid.
