who banned theodore?!

i was wondering where theodore went off to, as he is usually on the forum, and i went to look for his posts and, what do you know, he got banned. it seems to me that anyone who isn't a liberal or a gay-lover gets banned on this site. i have rarely seen anyone else get such horrid treatment here. this really pisse sme off.

Personally, I didn't know that Theodore was banned. It may have happened in the couple of days I was gone, or it may have been an admin decision.

But. We don't ban people for not being 'liberal' or 'gay-lovers.' :tsk: You know better, Matt.

its from a personal observation of everyone who has been banned. he was notorious here for calling the gay lifestyle morally repugnant and perverse, and he was no liberal either. i doubt that there has ever been a liberal banned on this forum. i think at least one of the mods (donno who, but someone), is a little more than biased to the left.

The mods can't ban people. Supermods (I believe) and admins are the only ones that can do that. If someone had banned him without talking it over with the team, there would be repercussions and he would be unbanned. Like I said, I don't know about the matter or if it is even a public one; if it's not, I'd suggest PMing Pah, Michel or Todd the next time one of them are on.

Just because you happen to agree with someone who gets banned doesn't mean it's undeserved. You don't know what he's done or said while you've been gone.
I've personally been send harassing PM's by someone who was subsequently banned, which I'm sure wasn't common knowlege...we don't know what goes on beneath the surface, and you know what they say about assumption. You shouldn't do it.

I've been dinged for plenty of "anti-christian" comments. I don't think the mods have been hitting the homophobic that hard, personally. Good try at making matyr, though FKM.

You know what pisses me off? People who shoot off their mouth without knowing what they're talking about. There are plenty of conservatives here and many who do not like homosexuality, and most of them I consider my friends anyway, and they don't feel the need to personally attack and threaten other members in private messages. So before you go shooting off your mouth about bias, why don't you get the facts straight first, ok?

Here's a little fact for you: Unless someone is here just to spam, very few people get banned from this forum.

From the rules

7.) The warning system for violating rules will initially be an explanatory PM or a general Moderator Advisory. A verbal warning will be issued next for the same rule being broken, Thereafter, warnings will include points so that when 5 active warnings are accumulated, a temporary ban will be put in place. Multiple warnings may be given to the same post.

3.) Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed. Multiple accounts will be removed.

6.) If you are having problems with certain members or a question about a Moderator action, use Private Message to a ReligiousForums.com member of the admin staff for help in resolving the matter.

What possible satisfaction would you have by knowing why ? Theodore was unfortunately banned; he would not adhere to rules, and was therefore 'asked to leave'. No Mod gets any satisfaction from this; you must be aware that we try to be as accomodating as possible. Even editing a post is something which is done only when necessary.

It was always Rex's policy, and now is Todd's that moderation be used as sparingly as possible - sometimes though, sadly, it cannot be avoided.
