I don't have those, but mingled in the grass here are small plants that spew their seeds whenever someone touches them. They are like tiny canons, and if you wear shorts the seeds sting your legs. I don't know what they are called, but they compete with the lawn grass.

Currently I'm not sure which plants they are, but when they reach the season where they are shooting seeds I'll be able to identify them and get a picture.
