Here is the headline from the FDA website "Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19."
Then the FDA states that "The FDA has not reviewed data to support use of ivermectin in COVID-19 patients to treat or to prevent COVID-19"
So there you go.
You need a prescription for it here in Australia, so what doctor is going to prescribe something that his profession is dissing despite the success of overseas trials with a variety of treatments. Ivermectin is just one of them.Yes....... but it could still be obtained or acquired or purchased privately, true?
But it doesn't look like many (or any) members have used ivermectin this last 12-18 months.
It was one of the antibiotics which were drip fed in to my wife in 2014 to save her from a serious bacterial sepsis condition, but of course antibiotics are great for killing bacteria, not much good for the treatment of a virus infection. Maybe that's why nobody has used it here, on RF? So far?

You can't dismiss one 'untested' treatment (which has been approved for decades) and then recommend one that is even more untested.....unless of course you are convinced by your superiors that you must. All we ask if for a choice.....if we take full responsibility, then what have they got to lose...its our life after all. If you have faith in something, it will usually work.....doesn't a placebo trial prove that? Often the placebos work better than the actual drug.....why? Because people believe in it.

Just saying, the FDA has not evaluated it as a treatment for Covid. Without proper testing, no one knows for sure how effective the drug can be at treatment or prevention. From what I have read, some doctors are saying it can be really effective as a prophylactic against Covid. Only slightly less effective than the existing vaccines. Of course, unless large scale trials are done, no one can say for sure. Certainly, you have to be out of your mind to inject a random amount of any kind of antibiotic into your body without a doctors supervision. Especially when you are doing it to fight an infection the drug has not been tested to treat.Yes....... but it could still be obtained or acquired or purchased privately, true?
