30+ years ago John Kerry has been accused of giving comfort and aid to the enemy when he returned from Vietnam and went before congress to speak of the injustices of that war. For this he has been accused of time and time again even from the SBVets. Let's talk hypocricy.
Here's another thought. . . . .When the Commander in Chief , not a veteran mind you, but the one who is in charge of the entire war for the US went on television last month and proclaimed "we cannot win the war on terror", did that statement give aid and comfort to this enemy? When the Commander in Chief went on television and said he "took his eye off of Osama Bin Laden", did that statement give aid and comfort to the enemy? Isn't this just about as aiding and comforting to the enemy as can possibly happen?
So now let's look at it this way. . . . . .What is more important. . . what is more harmful to our soldiers. . . statements made 30 years ago by a decorated veteran, voicing his opinion as a member of the armed forces OR, statements made last month by the Commander in Chief in this current war?
You know back in 2000 a Republican friend of mine warned me that if I voted for Al Gore and he won, the stock market would tank, we'd lose millions of jobs, and our military would be totally overstretched.
You know what? I did vote for Al Gore, he did win, and I'll be damned if all those things didn't come true-----------------JAMES CARVILLE
