Certainly a rabble-rouser if he is historical. Did he complete the necessary requirements to be termed as a rabbi? I do not know about that. There is a mention about people calling him a rabbi.

I don't think the 1st option equates with Incarnation. Jesus was not an 'aspect', a form of God, but was God.

Eh. Jesus is a plain man who was inspires by His Father to spread His Fathers word to all ao they may be saved through Him, Jesus, and live as His Father taught, through His Son therevby His Father. I feel He can dont this without being God.

Pretty much the same view as @Riverwolf. Jesus was a man, but not God. Perhaps a god. At the very least he was a teacher, a mystic, a 'yogi' if you will'. However, he taught nothing new. If I understand Judaism, what Jesus taught is already in Judaism, he just re-iterated it and reminded people of it when they forgot. He's relevant to me inasmuch as Buddha and Krishna are, as teachers. However, Jesus's relevance goes a step further because of things his followers did and still do in his name, not always nice things.

Like a lot of polls the choices don't really cover my belief as a Baha'i ...so while I voted "a man not God"... To be more accurate Jesus was a Manifestation of God... God manifest in Him.... for the people of His time He was the closest or most like God.

The Manifestations of God are several but there function is essentially the same... to manifest the attributes of God perfectly in Their various times...

If he really existed, I consider him to be an inspirational man whose stories got extremely exaggerated. But in the end a man and nothing more.

To me he symbolizes forgiveness, mercy and new beginnings. He is a symbol that few rival, but a symbol still.
I have no idea whether or not he existed, but as of right now most historians seem to agree that he did.

I consider the stories about him to be myths based on actual history.

EDIT: The actual man on whom these events are centered could have very well been totally real - but he's unlikely to be the literary character portrayed in The Book of Questionable Goodness.

Jesus was the man in whom the Christ spirit dwelt. He was the man whose soul welcomed and embraced the Christ spirit. He is the man who was willing to sacrifice his earthly life for the Christs sake. He is the man who through Christ became truly human. He is the man who bonded his soul with the Christ spirit and attained salvation through Christ.

A heretic, though probably a well-intentioned one, and not a bad man at heart. I doubt he ever claimed to be God, or the literal son of God. He was a heretic, but still a Jew, speaking to Jews, and neither sorts of claim are either likely to be common among Jews or likely to be particularly motivating for a Jewish audience.

And, of course, needless to say, I certainly don't believe Jesus was either God or divine in any way, or the literal son of God, or the messiah, or a legitimate Rabbi.

I chose the first option as I believe that Jesus is and was one of the many Names, Forms and Manifestations of God, truly God.

What's so funny about "a dead Jew"? It seems to me the Jesus was a Jew and died while being crucified-- so I guess that makes him "a dead Jew".

If he existed, the one thing we can agree on is that his mother was Jewish, and therefore Jesus was Jewish. And, if he existed, he is dead.

So... Jesus is a dead Jew.
