Who is Jesus to you? the poll options specify that only one choice is available. So, choose the option that most suits your idea of who He is, and is the most important to you, for whatever reason.

I voted a man but not God.

However, I do wish to point out that I do regard him as a God... one of many Gods. That is, he was a human being of flesh and blood who became deified; his devotees turned him into a God. But he doesn't mean anything to me, personally, any more than any other Gods of other people and/or places.

A man not HaShem, not divinity, wholly human but not quite like any other human, in that he is HaShem's chosen Messiah, His future representative king of the earth and soon to be installed Kohain Gadol. Sorry, I could not pick one of the choices offered because none of them really reflected what I believe concerning Yeshua.

He is, if one look at the classical Roman view, a Demigod. Since he's got a human mommy and a god daddy

Well, my opinion didn't make the list.

Holding to Advaita philosophy, I believe God is the core in all our hearts; Disciple, George-ananda and Jesus. I just believe Jesus was closer to his core than Disciple or George-ananda.

A man inspired by God, perhaps who felt his purpose was to spread the 'good news' of God and love to others. Who didn't like organized religion in the sense of honoring rules and legalism. And a very gender neutral dude, who viewed women as equals to men. I believe the aspect of divinity was a man made 'addition.'

An elohim/angel/ascended master/avatar/etc as the text says... You've not put that as an answer on the poll. Should also point out, YHVH is also an elohim and not God/El. :innocent:

Jesus Christ would mean "God is salvation" or "messiah" or "annointed one."

We deceive ourselves by the illusion of that being a literal "man" or the name of a literal "man." We deceive ourselves by the masculine and feminine principles the scripture used to create visual objects/people/images of what the mind perceives as "God." God has no gender and is not a literal guy floating around in the sky. The man and woman and husband and wife and son and daughter and child are all not literal.

Jesus Christ is a conscious, a higher conscious/awareness of ourselves and our divine nature. An inner/spiritual self. Wisdom, knowledge, understanding of God personified. What goes on within our brains, minds, hearts, bodies personified.

The source of creation, the thoughts, the ideas, the everything of God that we can relate to as conscious/living beings. The light/life/spirit of all humans. The still small voice in our consciouses that enable us to be an extension of God, to continue on creating as vehicles God resides in. (Our bodies)

There is one great objective truth for all and one subjective individual truth. Both occur in our mind. Higher self and lower self. Higher conscious and lower conscious. Conscious and subconscious. It's the subjective lower mind we must defeat, this is the outward, natural part of us that thinks physical things. Creates organized religions when there is one religion. When one becomes awakened, of higher conscious, awareness... We know ourselves deeply within, and we realize all is divine and we are divine.

The universe is perfect and balanced. We are imperfect and unbalanced. We have to overcome the unbalanced and become balanced. Become aware of creation, we become aware of the Creator, in truth and spirit. We are able to be imperfect in a perfect universe and exist because of the body we reside in. We have to defeat our lower nature, our animal minds that are subjective. Surrender ones own mind to God for our higher minds to be in tune with salvation- freedom and abundant life within ourselves.

The poll is missing at least one option: "an inspired man who was connected to God--the same as everyone else."

In other words, if you look at his teachings, and more saliently the interpretations of Paul, it's not at all clear that he is to be understood as fundamentally different from us. He stands out as the teacher who feels he was sent to reveal the truth to others and to lead the way, not in his basic essence. And part of that truth is that the line between Man and God is not so clear, and we are not as we have become accustomed to seeing ourselves.

Many today would call that a "Gnostic" view, but it's a legitimate reading of the scriptures, especially in light of similar wisdom traditions that employ similar language. It just happens not to be the majority view right now.

To me, he was most likely "a man but not God", but I have to qualify this statement in that one can also lean towards the concept that all of Creation reflects God in an intrinsic way. So, if one takes this latter position, Jesus is a reflection of God, as well as you, I, and all of Creation may be.

There is no option that allows for multiple views. I'm not sure Jesus existed. If he did, he was definitely a man, not God.

But to his followers, he was a teacher, so - as per my vote - a Radical rabbi, not inspired, not divine.

'I don't know' wasn't an option, so I voted that he didn't exist. Mainly cause it's all totally irrelevant to me. That was the closest, and I do lean that way.

All known gospels portray Jesus as a divine revelation. They all do not achieve this in the same manner. The Jesus of the synoptic gospels is different than that of the Gospel of John. Then there is the Gospel of Thomas, Judas, Mary, Peter, Philip and a handful of others. When you ask, “Who is Jesus to you?”, what Jesus are we talking about?

You didn't really put in a non-Trinitarian option so I had to choose 'A man, But not God'. Still, I think He was the son of God. The Messiah that the Israelites were promised.

Unlike pretty much every Christian I know, I'm no longer strictly Trinitarian. Not many non-Jehovahs Witness denominations swing that way unfortunately.
